There is a good reason for me to reconsider things that I have been busy with lately. First, I enrolled and successfully finished my Continuing Professional Education (CPE) last year and recently passed the board. I cannot say that what I am currently doing is unproductive. Because seriously, I earn decent money with this current occupation. Still, I have been thinking that maybe at the right time, I can go take my MBA admission essay and get qualified to enroll in a reputable school for my Masters Degree in Business Administration.

As usual, this is going to be an almost wordless one. Our dinner was a treat from “the man” himself, Neil of Neilmaranan.com. Thanks, Neil! This guy is ultra generous with more than just sharing what he knows about internet marketing. Even while we were still classmates back in CPE, he threw such a grand bash when he turned 21 (*wink*). Which reminds me, Neil, you’re soon to turn another year older in less than a couple of months. San tayo?! Beside Neil is Nonette and the ever famous Mhel of Marikenya.com right there in the middle and beside me is Rizza of Experiencenexpress.blogspot.com.

The hubby and our little guy joined us after dinner at Starbucks. I only got to snap just a single group shot. The guys got a little too busy discussing business, I tend to move away when things get technical. lol! I leave it to the hubby to take care of those stuff. I’m fine with just blogging, thank you. :-) Thanks so much guys for being such great friends! Hope there will be a repeat, besides we weren’t really able to discuss much about the Salamyaan stuff, right?

I am not a big fan of cars. As long as there is a wheel to drive, I am okay with it. But I have to say that I prefer vans over cars, primarily because it’s hoodless. For a petite girl like me, it is so much easier to drive the former than a regular sedan.
It was the hubby who has a major influence on me even as he talks about cars, just like any regular guy. He would tell me the pros and cons of different cars and lately he has been talking about the wide choices of family cars. We are praying that someday the Lord would grant us to replace the old car that we are currently using. As my dear husband would enumerate all the numerous family cars, it was not surprising that the New Subaru Outback would top the list. Subaru is the Japanese word for the word “unite,” which makes it more fitting to be a family car.
If you’re anywhere near Washington DC area, you might want to check out New Subaru DC for their huge selection of New Subaru cars, wagons and mini vans at discounted, no haggle price! Call Toll-Free: 800-816-9912

A handful of young people from the church are on their way to graduating from our discipleship material. This program gets them to learn more about the faith and more importantly allows them to understand why we believe the things we do. At the end of every lesson they are to quote three to five corresponding memory verses. When they are all done with the ten lessons, they will have completed memorizing thirty five key verses from the Bible. You could just imagine the volume of print out we do every week. This is aside from the printing the hubby has to do for his manuscript and the church bulletin.
Being the young church that we are, we actually had to come up with a Christmas offering for some things that we need in the church. One of the things we were able to buy was a printer. After having used our personal printer for some time, our church was finally able to purchase a printer of its own. A prime consideration when the hubby and I were out canvassing for one was the cost of Printer Ink. This is where PacificInk comes in. Over 200 brands are on sale at prices up to 70% less than what printer manufacturers charge. This will help us a great deal as we figure out ways to economize to minimize operating cost.

Seven months in and eight hundred and twenty nine posts later, I and the hubby are definitely having a blast maintaining this blog. Although majority of posts archived from 2005 to 2007 were imported from my multiply site, 829 post is still something for a seven month old blog. Although I could say that I have gotten quite acquainted with my dashboard and I am so loving wordpress, in my heart I still feel like a noob. There are a whole lot of things I still need to learn. I know our SEO friend, Neil, who has gotten us into this blogging business will agree. Right, Neil?
As much as I want to just type away and broadcast my thoughts, there is more to web blogging than just that. Like for instance, considering to avail of a premium chat software from Uzoom. This chat tracking technology would allow for us to see every visitor in real time as it generates report on how they got to our site, if they got in via search engine, what keywords were used - identifying whether the hits were organic or otherwise. This will further allow us to analyze the things we still have got to do to better market this web page.
I have always hoped I could leave this techie stuff to the hubby, but with all those things in his hands, I know I have got to learn the ropes of being an effective webmaster.

One of the things a couple must do is have a regular getaway - just the two of them. We used to be able to leave our little guy with my folks, every couple of weeks or so when they were still here. We just go someplace as regular as the mall or just go out for a ride for two to three hours. This is something we have missed doing since my folks left. I know my father will be more than glad to take care of my son from time to time when they arrive from America early next year. They miss each other so much.
This activity allows for married couples to go back to the time when it was just the two of them. Oftentimes concerns that arise in families can be overwhelming that we are driven to forget what made us decide to be a family to begin with - Love. This was the reason why we traveled and explored the island of Cebu when our son was three months old. As first time parents, having a newborn was very overwhelming and that trip was a needed break for both me and the hubby.
If you’re considering treating your spouse to that overseas getaway and you have Rome in mind, make sure all logistics are covered. Look into the Rome hotels available in RomaClick.com. Continue Reading »

It has been a fun and restful Monday for me and the hubby yesterday. Even though I could have done three loads of laundry, I figured I will just do just one load because the weather wasn’t very fair and rain clouds were all over the sky contemplating a read loud thud. That I did, just one load of laundry. We both did a couple of online tasks and then I had my boys rest in the afternoon while I bake away my buttermilk biscuits and my now famous lasagna. Again they were hits, I experimented on baking white lasagna and I loved it even more than the original. It is also my little guy’s favorite.
After all the busyness in the kitchen, I remember that I have got to sit down making personalized gifts for baby. Continue Reading »

The very first time the hubby and I heard about the stem cell research was when we were attending classes in preparation for child birth. We were given quite a number of readings about it but since we were first time parents, our attention was diverted to getting ready for the big event.
Another interesting branch About the Science that is revolutionary is the C’elle exclusive that allows women to safely collect non-controversial, potential life-saving stem cells found in menstrual blood. It was hard to believe at first until I read a C’elle Client Testimonial. Who would have thought that menstrual blood would be of any use. Menstrual stem cell is currently being developed to formulate a breakthrough for future medical purposes possibly treat major diseases like diabetes, heart disease, stroke, MS, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s; as well as possible cosmetic applications like anti-aging and wound-healing. Ths really something I am going to read more on.

Our little guy is enjoying his first ever study time at his very own study table that his father lovingly built for him. As early as now he is getting the hang of what it is to study. We would always read his books on the bed, now we will have a formal study time to prepare him for home school in the next months to come. I know June of 2009 is still far ahead, but time flies really fast and it is never too early to prepare.

As we open up the church during weekdays as Jive Youth Center, we hope to more than just do some scholarly tutorials, have them play table tennis and darts, or even make the place available for them to hang out in. We also hope to connect with them, even as we placed key people to be in charge of the center. We hope to get the message across that they belong and we want to connect with them.
The hubby recently just found a site to download movies wherein we could get a hold of good, clean and fun films that can be of entertainment for the middle school students who will swing by the center. Continue Reading »

While my previous post speaks of the hubby’s next project, my focus right now is to write good issues in my newly ranked Kikay Corner site. I hope to blog more than just about the best acne treatments. With eighteen posts to date, it boggles me how a blog so new could ever get ranked with a fantabulous two.
This will duly divert my attention from the fact that this site just got a slappin’ from the recent page rank update. Although it is a long anticipated one, mainly because of the volume of paid posts that we have written over the months, I still have got to do some mourning- not! Being slapped for the second time did not hurt as much. It’s just funny, you know, that I always get slapped the day this site hits a new high (visits). Besides, no ranking would stop this blogger from doing what she does best.

Now that dear hubby is done with a major project (DS’ study table), he is contemplating of working on his fitness equipment. He has this five year old collection of weights and he actually wants to work on his very own bench press this time. Now that he has made such a terrific job on our son’s study table, he is inspired to work on something bigger. He has actually assigned a place where the bench press will go.

I know a handful of people getting hooked playing online games. Even the hubby got stuck on playing one of these for a while. While it is true that it can take a considerable amount of one’s time, it is important to strike a balance between work/study and leisure. If one can discipline himself accordingly, then it is fine. For one, it also is a good way to exercise problem solving skills and the ability to think outside the box, not to mention a real entertaining hobby.
One of the more interesting online games that is currently making waves is the Warcraft universe, which is defined by Wikipedia as “a fictional universe in which a series of games and books published by Blizzard Entertainment are set. Players are introduced to this universe in the original Warcraft: Orc and Humans in Eastern Kingdoms of the planet Azeroth.” I am a lover of John Ronald Reuel Tolkien’s writings and this Warcraft universe does sound a lot like the war in the middle earth. I
If you are one of those online game fanatics, specifically an avid warcraft follower, you have to buy wow account from a legitimate company and do away from the usual private seller. This company supplies satisfied customers with high-end secured WoW accounts, with unparalleled level of expertise. am so going to check this out and who knows I may even be able to appreciate online games like the hubby does.

Ah the downside of going techie! I am again at my old discs trying to figure out how on earth I could ever have my tons of photos recovered! Those discs cover my 2004 to 2007 digital album. I have gotten hundreds of photos printed before the disc refused to read but there are a lot more photos in there that I have got to get my hands on. It’s the most frustrating thing. Back in the days when digital cameras was not yet around, this sort of problem was unheard of. But of course there were issues of molds and photos going brown and tarnished. I so regret that I did not create a back up for my files. Now it’s just too late.
In my quest to be able to retrieve these old files, I have been in search for a Photo Image Recovery Software when I discovered Photo Nose. It literally sniffs out and retrieves lost images. I just got it installed in my computer and will soon have it work for me. The software is easy to install as it is and free to try. If you have issues like I do, you might want to check it out and benefit from it as well.

This is the first time I’m going to join this fun meme. For someone like me who can go on and on about the hubby, it will be sweet to allot a special time of the week to focus on just that.
For my first ever entry for “My Husband Rocks Friday,” I would like to blog about my gorgeous husband’s masterpiece for the week: our three year old son’s first ever study table. We tried canvassing for a good reliable table for our soon-to-be-officially-homeschooled-three-year-old-kiddo, but all we found were unsturdy, non-durable, laminated type and they were all expensive for the quality! The hubby figured he will just make one for our son and that he did. Although the assembly was done roughly by the man who made our bed box from the scrap and extra wood that were still available, the hubby was still the one who painstakingly puttied every inch of it, mixed paints and carefully did everything with precision. He has been working on this for the past couple of weeks (mainly because he only works on it during his days off-Mondays). He has always been my ever reliable handyman. Thank you Mahal for making our home so much sweeter with all the things you do for me and our son.

The hubby applying putty on the table

working on the first coat of paint

checking out the finished product

and finally, the hand over day.

The last time I tipped the scale I was doing a hundred and three pounds. For someone who has always ranged between ninety five to ninety eight pounds, I feel a lot heavier now. The last time I was over a hundred pounds was more than ten years ago. Now most of my clothes won’t fit me anymore.

My sister and I (who are also neighbors, for the record) have been exchanging chat messages over Yahoo! Messenger since this morning. One gory thing she mentioned over the course of our talk was the accident she saw on her way to the office, along the stretch of C-5 road was a woman on the ground who met an accident. She was still wearing her helmet and the ground was covered with so much blood. DS saw everything up close. Apparently an MMDA was trying to help her up, with all the trauma her body has endured during the crash, I’m sure what she needed then was a stretcher to send her straight to the hospital and later a truck accident lawyer to help her take care of other logistics.

This news reminds me why I am inclined to be negative whenever the hubby expresses his want to go get a motorcycle. He said it is way economical. Sure, it is economical but it is also too risky. As opposed to a car, when a motorcycle gets banged, there is nothing to protect the body from the accident - it hits you straight out. Despite the sky high price of gasoline, I will never be in favor of getting us a motorcycle ever.

One of the things that the hubby assigned for me to do is clean up my hard drive. He has given me a handful of blank DVDs to burn in some movie files that I have downloaded via BitTorrent. I saw this photo of me and the hubby as I was going through files and picking out what to transfer and what stays in my drive. We rendered a song to my sister and her husband on their wedding day, which I also helped coordinate. I was just thinking that it has been quite a while since I last coordinated a wedding. The last one was last December. I have turned down more than a handful ever since I got hooked in internet marketing. I have to admit, I awfully miss doing weddings. More than the preparation for bridesmaid gifts, gathering up of all those countless suppliers, or even booking the hotels and flights for the couples’ honeymoon destinations, it’s the lovely wedding ceremony itself and how it turns out that gets me to plan weddings with passion. The day before my folks left for the states, the hubby and I went to our son’s future school. DH highly favors the “School of Tomorrow” system, not just because he has attended its administrator’s training, but also because of the value and quality of education it has in general. The benefit of their curriculum to students goes beyond intellectual. We agreed after checking out the school that this is where our son is going to be enrolled in the next couple of years, that is, if the plan to put up our own pre-school with the same system will not push through.
Speaking of schools, there is one interesting school in Arizona that I have read about. The Nouveau Riche University sets out their students to go for gold. Continue Reading »
