One Sunday morning, a man shouted to his wife in the living room, “Honey, I don’t feel like going to church today. I just want to stay in bed and continue my sleep.” His wife said, “No, honey, you need to get up, eat your breakfast and get ready for church.” He replied, “Okay, but first give me three reasons why I need to go to church?” The man’s wife entered their bedroom and with both hands on her hips answered, “Alright I’ll give you one reason. You are the pastor, so you need to get up now!” Read the rest of this entry »

All my friends and loved ones can attest to my passion when it comes to my son. Even while he was in utero, I created a website designed just for our child and had friends anticipate with me the coming of our bundle of joy.

It was one of my most exciting pregnancy memories. The thrill doubled many times over when he finally came. If I can only turn back time, I would have done some Photo Cards Read the rest of this entry »

How I wish I could watch Manny Pacquiao’s next match this March in Las Vegas. I honestly feel nervous for Pacman as he faces his Mexican opponent knowing that he weighed close to the 140-pound requirement during the recent weigh in. Could that be a sign that he is having trouble making the 130-pound weight? Read the rest of this entry »

Around this time last year, I remember the fun hubby and I had going from one home depot to another looking for fixtures needed inside the house. It was a time we will always remember. A few months before that we went to different housing agencies hoping to get a great deal on some foreclosed properties. But it turned out the Lord has got something better in mind for us. A couple comes into the marriage setting wanting only the best. The thoughts of isolation and of being lonely do not cross both minds, there is a level of certainty that the marriage that you have will not step within the level of mediocrity. These expectations are all but normal. But when symptoms of isolation and loneliness get in the picture one or both of them will suddenly realize that it has all been going on for years. jan2308.JPG I hope to again journal my son’s jumping on the “big boy” status. A couple of nights back, in the wee hours of the morning, I heard tiny, big steps (I swear his footsteps are not light! But I know they come from tiny feet :-) ) coming towards our bed. It was our son with his “blue pillow” (that’s how he calls it). I thought then he was ready to jump to our bed as he would sometimes do at around seven in the morning. Read the rest of this entry »

It is a really a blessing that we finally got our house’s fire insurance premium paid last weekend. When dear hubby and I were at the grocery last V Day, we were talking about how fire insurance in other countries are expected of every household. This does not apply in our side of the world and it is sad. Read the rest of this entry »

GeNxT Summer Camp 2007 was quite an interesting experience for me. It was in this camp that I ventured into a bit of Christian apologetics (defense) in my message to campers (around 750 young people for the 1st week and 1,068 for the 2nd week), a large percentage of which are non-believers. The topic was Absolute Truth and its Source.

Our family is looking into going on a vacation outside the country just in time before our little guy starts schooling next year. So that gives us a year to prepare for that. Our friend, Ana, is opening her abode in Singapore for us, if ever. So that would take of a major bulk of our travel expense. Considering this, we are canvassing for cheap flights to go to the countries we are looking into. Read the rest of this entry »

Yesterday, hubby and I went straight to an old friend who just came back from the States from my review classes. It sure was great to see her once again after almost a decade. I cannot believe it has been that long! We sure had lots of fun reconnecting and just being silly. Read the rest of this entry »

When we were planning the house construction for our 48-square meter land, we thought about building two floors. But doing that would have doubled the cost so what we settled for was just to have beams designed for a two-storey house. Because we really wanted a more spacious house but were limited by the available land area. Read the rest of this entry »

It wasn’t grand. I was not expecting anything fancy. We were just too busy. I know that’s no excuse. We just went out because we had to. We definitely did not have any other time to do our grocery shopping. I have my reviews on weekends and today’s schedule is all but loaded. Read the rest of this entry »

Indulge me even as I celebrate Hearts Day today. I am thinking of last minute gifts for my loved ones. I know I would have to get hold of coupons to be able to get the most amazing presents for each of them. I would want to get an old navy shirt for my kid and of course a special something for my lovey dovey hubby. I would have to run to the store soon to get the presents in time. :-)
