There was no previous plan for me to have anything fancy for Mother’s Day. But Downy had something else in mind when for the first time, I got an invitation especially mentioning that I tag my mother along. For someone who’s been off the event loop lately, I wasn’t going to budge, given the pile of things on my plate. But because I don’t get to hang with my mother a lot anyway, I thought I might as well have the day off, attend the event and spend the rest of the day shopping with her. 🙂
The Downy Timeless Mother’s Day celebration was hosted by new mom Stephanie Zubiri-Crespi at The Manila Peninsula.
Stephanie Zubiri-Crespi shared, “They say that you will only begin to understand how it is to be a parent, or in this case, a mother, once you have become one yourself. As a new mom, I had to figure out many things, and my mom was there to help me along the way. They say that you will only begin to understand how it is to be a mother once you become one yourself. Truly, how my mom raised me made me the mom I am today.”
The 4-Course Lunch we had sure was fit for a Mother’s Day Celebration: Insalata Caprese, Hearty Vegetable soup, Fillet of Beef topped with foie gras and French Silk Pie.
During the Downy Timeless Mother’s Day Celebration, guests celebrated how a mother’s love not only endures but also evolves over time. Her words and actions stay with her children forever, and affect the kind of parents her children may eventually be.
“We wanted to provide a classic scent that mirrors how a mother’s love never goes out of style,” de Padua adds. Downy Timeless combines the playful notes of citrus fruits that hark back to memories of youth; the feminine scent of flowers reminiscent of femininity; and is mixed with a trace of musk and sandalwood, to evoke stability and calmness.
Thank you, Downy, for the tribute for Moms my mom and I got to enjoy last week. Celebrating love and making new memories with loved ones will sure never go out of style. Thank you for giving us a reason to hit the road, get out of our regular, otherwise boring grind. And thank you, Mama, for not making it hard for me to ask you out. Let’s go out on a date again soon! 🙂
