Our quick 9th anniversary getaway

Since our booking for Bangkok did not push through in time for our 9th anniversary, we figured we will have to make do with spending some quality, albeit quick time on our 9th! We trooped to our favorite hideaway – Tagaytay!

I surprised the hubby with a cake! Although he probably does not have a fiber in him that will go giddy over some frilly cake, I risked it. Because I really wanted to give him something that’s unpredictable and he’ll always remember our 9th anniversary by (even via its pictures).  He was surprised all right. But not as thrilled as when he got his real anniversary gift – Philippine Football Team jersey. But boy did he love the cake’s ultra moist and its just right sweetness.  Thanks, Iris of PH Bakehouse and her artsy hubby, Marcelle! We love our 9th anniversary cake to bits! (literally) Although I would have to add that it was a really pain to slice that cake up. It was too pretty!

But of course, we weren’t slicing that cake up without having that all-important photo op. And that is also why we made sure we tagged the kiddo along. Haha! A tripod just ain’t fun. 😉

Before we headed over to SLEX, we stopped by that Dampa place in Paranaque for our all time seafood favorites.

Kilawing Tanigue, Sinigang na Hipon and Baked Mussels. Yumm!

Now this is something tripods can’t do – the crab dance! That’s what our little man calls this stance.

Okay, so this is what the Aspacio boys do first thing in the morning, before breakfast. Since I can’t figure out what they are up to, I might as well grab a hold of my s90 and snap along. Boy do we love the Tagaytay breeze! It’s just sweet that we don’t have to drive all the way to Baguio to enjoy air this cool!

By this time, Jed has probably gotten the hang of the photo ops that he is beginning to compose better shots. 🙂

If the boys have their silly crab dance, then I can also go mimic one of our little guy’s daffy acts.

I also got to practice some photography. We forgot to bring with us our dslr. So I had to make do with my ever trusty Canon S90. 🙂

The crab dance at Taal Vista.

Before we headed home the next day, we shared this topping rich banana split.

The boys got this crazy idea of playing around with the panoramic app and got me to compose a shot with all the stitched photos with them on it, creating the illusion of multiple Jeffs and Jeds.

Happy 9th Anniversary to us, my love! Thanks for the things that you never fail to still surprise me with. This quick casual getaway was fun! Nevermind if the original plan didn’t push through. At least I still have the special occasion dresses you got me. It’s always fun having you around. Never mind if your humor cannot be more dry. You just make the gloomiest of days bright again. As you said, the best is yet to come! Let’s continue to glorify God with our lives, our marriage, our family and our ministry! I love you so much! 🙂
