Our humble abode is finally malodour-free. Thanks to Mia Maison Odour Away!
Living in a condo was never part of our plan. In fact, we have recently just had a long overdue roof replacement done in our house, and we were planning to work on a few other nooks a.k.a. kitchen corner and Jed’s room ceiling, for their repair. But the Lord has something else planned out for us, and surprised us with our son making the cut as he passed the ever elusive Philippine Science High School entrance exam! We are beyond grateful, really. The ones who made the cut (Main Campus) are less than 1% of the total examinees. That’s 240 out of the 34,500 who took the test. The transition may not have been an easy one and this deserves another post altogether. How the Lord led us to the most amazing condo owner, and everything that He allowed for us to witness His hand over this season of our lives. Stay tuned. 🙂
I digress. But understand that this season of transition is plenty colorful, and apparently our olfactory sense isn’t half spared. From the unexpected expenses that came with our moving in an unfurnished studio unit, to our adjusting to the three of us constantly bumping into each other – it can be fun, sweet, to be honest. What I will never get used to is the odor that tends to envelop the entire 20 square meter studio space.
While I love cooking for my boys, the lingering food odor has its not so blissful story all on its own. Especially since they mostly love dishes like Aglio Oglio, Pasta Alfredo, Beef Salpicao, et. al. Just a few of those they love that are quite heavy on garlic. The range hood does suck the fume out, all right. But it doesn’t really do a lot about the odor. I kid you not, I smell the garlic from across the hall. I found this out when I went down to get something from the front desk and gone back to the unit. I can’t even begin to tell you how it feels to be ready to leave for an appointment, all dressed up, and feel that my perfume was altogether overpowered by the scent of garlic. Haha!
