Celebrating our special days in Richmonde Hotel Ortigas has become a habit.
Our birthdays, being only two weeks apart, we celebrate together year after year. Before we flew to Davao for our family celebration tradition last week, we checked in and had a sweet birthday staycation at Richmonde Hotel Ortigas. It was the perfect spot for a family downtime getaway on an even crazier Saturday metro traffic situation. If you think week day traffic is horrendous, you wouldn’t wanna step out of the house on Saturdays!
You gotta squeeze in what you gotta squeeze in. A birthday staycation was in order and there was no way traffic will get in our way. 🙂
It was also at Richmonde Hotel Ortigas where our family checked-in for our 15th anniversary renewal of vows last December 2016. RHO is really the perfect spot in the metro that was strategic to our wedding venue and places that we need access to. It is a stone’s throw away to at least four malls too.

The hubby went to attend their grand alumni homescoming as I celebrated with my favorite girls from high school who I haven’t seen in close to two years.
It’s always fun to catch up with old friends.  Richmonde Hotel Ortigas was closer to where they live. Such convenience!

We were too lazy to leave the hotel, and just wanted to hang. Armed with our bluetooth microphone, we enjoyed a karaoke sesh and ordered fast food.
Our little man was on his wee corner in the hotel as he typed away the 9th chapter of his second book. The second installment to the first of the series, The Chronicles of the Plantoids.
Indoor Saline-Treated Pool
The saline-treated, heated indoor swimming pool of Richmonde Hotel Ortigas is also one of the reasons why this has become one of our favorite go to places in Manila for staycation. Some hotels have heavily chlorine-treated pools that make my skin itch, the smell would follow me around through the day despite thorough rinsing. This has never happened to me in saline-treated pools. I can only wish we have more saline-treated pools within the metro.

Buffet Breakfast

What I love about Richmonde Hotel Ortigas’s buffet breakfast is its adequate spread. It may not be as grandiose as those of the ones in bigger hotels, but the basics are in: the egg station, cereal choices, the cheeses, breads, fruits, tapa, et al. I wasn’t able to take a decent shot of the buffet, there were a lot of people having breakfast during our stay. With a lot of birthday celebrations in September, why am I not surprised.

Right from the first time we stayed at Richmonde Hotel Ortigas, it has always felt like home. It was further reinforced when upon this recent birthday staycation check-in. The lady who accommodated us at the front desk, asked if we still preferred a non-smoking room. That made us feel like they knew us way before we came in. I don’t know about you, but that feels like family to me. Thank you Richmonde Hotel Ortigas for another lovely family staycation.
