Cetaphil by Galderma is 70 years old! It’s been that long since the celebrated skincare range has been clinically proven to strengthen and protect even the most delicate skin.
I think of Cetaphil, and I am reminded of the only skin care product that I have allowed my son to use since he was born. And it so makes sense to me now that I learned that the pith of Cetaphil is in the name: “Cet” originates from the fatty alcohol which is used as an emollient – Cetyl alcohol, and “phil,” which means love. Cetaphil stands for the love of softening and soothing skin.
Cetaphil was invented in 1947 by a pioneering pharmacist in Texas. The first product was the Cetaphil Cleansing Lotion, known today as Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser. To this day, Cetaphil uses the very same formula. From then on, customers has embraced its gentle cleansing power.
Fast forward 70 years, Cetaphli is accessible in more than 70 countries and offers an extensive variety of everyday products from, cleansers, moisturizers, sun protection to baby products and solutions for delicate skin conditions such as acne, eczema, and rosacea. Cetaphil has become one of the top skincare brands recommended by dermatologists and other healthcare professionals across the world.
“With its gentle and clinically proven formulas, Cetaphil reinforces and protects the structure of the skin – even in people with the most sensitive and delicate skin” explained Dr Eszter Baltas, dermatologist who contributed to developing Cetaphil products and now Associate Professor at the Department of Dermatology and Allergology in Szeged, Hungary. “Thanks to its long heritage, based on in-depth understanding of dermatology, Cetaphil offers reliable, scientifically-tested solutions.”
“Cetaphil has been used by people with sensitive skin for more than three generations” said Neil Popplewell, Vice President Consumer Business, Nestlé Skin Health. “Over the last 70 years, we have worked closely with medical experts to better understand people’s skin needs. This has allowed us to provide different solutions adapted to these needs, and to make the Cetaphil range what it is today. Like regular exercise and a well-balanced diet, maintaining healthy skin is essential for your overall well-being, so Cetaphil completes your health routine. We will continue to develop the brand and make it more accessible to consumers worldwide. We look forward to the next 70 years of healthy skin with Cetaphil.”
The Mendoza Family for Cetaphil
The Mendoza Family, Cetaphil Family Endorsers
Edric and Joy Mendoza, alongside their children were present during Cetaphil’s 70th year celebration. Such a beautiful family! I’ve followed her blog for the longest time, and have recently read her book. My son and I love listening to her father’s podcasts too.
Here’s a snippet of their interview during the Cetaphil event. The Facebook live isn’t that clear (it may have been the lights), but you have to watch thru the end. I never expected to tear up, but I did.
Together with the Mendoza family, and other Cetaphil believers, I celebrate the brand’s 70 years of being topnotch in skin care, and echo what Dr. Baltas summed it up with, “When you choose Cetaphil, you’re choosing the best for your skin.”
