Perfectly nestled with the scenic panoramic view of the West Philippine Sea as its backdrop is where Thunderbird Poro Point, or otherwise known as the Santorini of Asia, sits.
I got to visit Thunderbird Resorts Poro Point in La Union over the weekend. The instant I stepped right in, it took my breath away. I can just about sigh over and over and drink in the beauty of the luxurious horizon of the unending expanse of the sea. I was so thrilled to have finally visited this 65-hectare Mediterranean inspired dream travel destination in North Luzon. The cobalt blue domes against the white-washed buildings were too picture perfect.
With such beauty to behold, it is inevitable for the Santorini of Asia to have a need for expansion, so that they will be able to accommodate more guests.
June 17, 2016 marked the ground breaking event of 47 new villas and opening of two new food and beverage outlets – Pianosa Deli Shop and Ouzo Restaurant.

The ground breaking event was the first of many, as Thunderbird Resorts & Casinos expands its operations in the upcoming months. A lot of new additions are in store such as the opening of the infinity pool and beach club – the first in La Union, the re-launch of Agora Events Center and the expansion of Fiesta Casino. All of these are in support of tourism in the province of La Union.
