As a homeschooling family, we believe in the value of rewards system. Although our leaning is towards teaching our homeschooler to embrace intrinsic rewards more, we cannot deny the fact that extrinsic rewards, strategically given, can positively affect a person whether he be a student or an employee. It is a material reminder of a deserved award for a job well done.
We are a week away from wrapping up our Level 4 PACES and we are faced with this task. Extrinsic rewards may not be always as extravagant. As opposed to the Nintendo DSi XL we awarded our homeschooler with when he finished Level 2, our son is choosing between a book and a wristwatch for his Level 4 reward. And because I’m a savvy homeschooling mommy, who do not fancy wasting on gas, online window shopping it is, via Lazada.com.ph. 🙂
It did not take long, when our little guy spotted the Percy Jackson and the Olympians #2: The Sea of Monsters book over at Lazada. He was sure it was what he wanted. I also saw this Ben 10 wristwatch over at the Lazada Shop Kids page. At 8 years old, Jed has not gotten over Ben 10 just yet and the watch can replace his overused, years old Ben 10 projector watch.
It is neat that we can do worry-free online shopping nowadays through Lazada.com.ph. Now let me go back to online shopping. We’ll let you guys in what we got for our soon to jump up to Level 5 boy. 😀
