The Rock Solid Bible

If this does not draw you to the Word, I don’t know what will. I love this. Jeff and I first heard this recited by a cool MK (missionary kid) last year. Fact is, the solid truths and foundation of the Bible are unquestionable.

The reason most people don’t believe this book is not because it contradicts itself, but because it contradicts them. It’s not that they can’t believe it; it’s that they won’t.

Because in a world obsessed with equality, this book speaks with authority.
…In a generation content with naturalistic explanations, this book affirms supernatural realities.
…In a society stuck on relativity, this book is full of absolutes.
…In a civilization captivated by sensuality, this book esteems purity.
…In a culture infatuated with self-fulfillment and self-discovery, this book calls for self-sacrifice and self-denial.
…In a time when we’re taught that all roads lead to heaven, this book says that no one comes to the Father except through Jesus.

This book tells the truth…
…the truth about life and death, heaven and hell, right and wrong, Savior and sinners.

Thousands of characters…
Hundreds of stories…
But one unmistakably clear message:
The redemption of fallen humanity…through Jesus Christ…for the glory of God.

The stories of this book will surprise you…
A man kills his brother and a father his son.
Shepherds become kings, and kings become criminals.
The righteous are rebuked and prostitutes are forgiven.
Sinners live but the Savior dies.

It’s not diplomatic; it’s not discreet.
It’s not irrelevant; it’s not incorrect.
It’s not trivial; it’s not tolerant.

It is holy and righteous.
It is good and true.
It is powerful and pure.
It’s sweeter than honey and finer than gold.
It’s a map that leads you through the great storms of life.
It’s a lamp that gives you light amidst blinding darkness.
It’s a mirror that tells you who you really are.
It’s a sword that cuts deeps into your guilty conscience.
It’s a hammer that breaks your hard heart to pieces…
And it’s the glue that puts it back together, better than before.

The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul.
The statutes of theLORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple.
The precepts of theLORD are right, giving joy to the heart.

I love how the summon is said with the rightful conviction. It encourages me every single time. Brings me to even look beyond my circumstance. Totally worth going over again and again, just like The Bible itself. 🙂

I believe this spoken piece about the Bible was especially created for the Rock Solid Faith Study Bible. Regardless of what this piece was originally designed to promote, The Holy Bible,  its relevance to our generation, its ageless absolute truths is where we should anchor our very lives on. The assurance that it affirms time and again surpass every life insurance quotes with GIO we can ever encounter. It gives me goosebumps just listening to this and am humbled every time to immerse myself in God’s Word. There are some hard truths that I still struggle to this day to obey — to forgive those who have wronged us (and continues to this day) ever since I can remember, specifically. My being a pastor’s wife does not immune me to these things. But even as God is not done with me yet, I trust that His amazing grace will sustain me and carry it on to completion.

“being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6
