Our Closet Project and Baking Time

Because we are done with Level 3 and won’t be starting Level 4 until at least a couple more weeks, we have been doing the things our son has requested for us to do. Yesterday, we baked some chocolate chip cookies. But before that, we had to get done with our Closet Project. I had him take out all the clothes from his closet so we could have them sorted and arranged. From what I know, the Second Law of Thermodynamics, Entropy, pertains to things becoming moldy and dusty over time. Oh yes, it does cover the natural break down of things too. Reinforced by the fact that my love is not exactly so careful when he chooses his clothes and pulls them out of the pile. Although I practically still do most of the folding, he is tasked to put his clothes in his closet.

Our Closet Project: the overwhelming bunch of clothes to fold and arrange

We’ve been doing this for a year now, I think. It is never too early to teach kids these simple tasks. I used to be at his back as he used to just pile his stuff wherever. Until he appreciated order and now my 7 year old Jed is doing better. Truth be told, it is often tempting to just do things ourselves so that tasks will be done in less than half the time. But it is withholding the child the chance to learn these basic things.

Almost done with the folding task

Jed loves it when we bake. More than anything it’s the task of whipping all those ingredients together that he looks forward to the most. He’s now so good at baking that he’s one who tells me what ingredients are still lacking.

He is OC like this. He makes sure that all the chocolate chip balls are lined up evenly, by four to be exact. He insists on this every single time. While I just practically throw the balls on the baking sheet, he’d go check and make sure it’s the same number of balls on each baking sheet. πŸ™‚

Jed’s Chocolate Chip Batter

Jed’s freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. Yum!

Jed shared the cookies to grandfolks and to his Tita Rose and Ninong Ted last ngiht. We’ll be bringing some to share with our ministry leaders later tonight. Good thing we doubled the amount of cookies that we baked. πŸ™‚

It is always fun doing things with Jed. All the time we did all these things, he went about chattering about all random things. You won’t need a radio with this kid around. πŸ™‚
