Singapore has been consistent in their top ten ranking at TIMSS (Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study). Their students have mastered a technique which allows them to visualize equations, thus helping them understand Math concepts better and more efficiently. Schools around the world are now implementing this technique, including some of the top schools in the Philippines.

The speakers in this seminar are Dr. Queena Lee-Chua and her son Scott. Dr. Queena Lee-Chua also happened to be my husband’s Math professor in Ateneo during his college days. She is a mathematician, writer, and lecturer of Mathematics, Psychology and English at the Ateneo de Manila University.
I am actually considering to attend this seminar even if I have blocked out a fitness training I was to attend on the same date. This Singapore Math seminar sounds so interesting, as homeschoolers, this really could be very handy for us.
