A while ago our family chose to turn off the lights in our house for one hour from 8:00-9:00 PM. We wanted to fuel awareness on climate change with this simple act. Curious about who else participated in our community, we drove around for 30 minutes to find out who else were aware of this revolution. We saw only three houses (not counting ours) who participated actively with their families gathering together and lighting candles outside their homes. We were a bit discouraged to get on with participating for 30 minutes more but decided to press on considering also that maybe many people in our area were not aware of Earth Hour. When we arrived back home we continued our support of the Earth Hour and played hide and seek in the darkness of our small house. It turned out to be fun and the last few minutes went by in a breeze.
