Trust God with Your Marriage

Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding..”

This must be the most quoted verses in the Bible related to gaining wisdom and direction from God. It is fairly easy to understand the first part of the verse, to trust in the Lord with all my heart. When it comes to the second phrase of leaning not on our own understanding, it does not necessarily say that it has to do with the first phrase. But it has everything to do with it. We have to lean on God for understanding. This especially applies in marriage. After the first year of marriage, the rose colored glasses get snatched from you by who knows who. It’s a lifetime relationship that you would either enjoy or stay miserable in. For me I want to have the Lord fill my cup through this marriage and I choose to trust Him with it.
