It has been a while since I last joined the PhotoHunters.  Their theme for this week is warm.  For lack of finding  a better shot, I took a picture of the trusty stove top that cooks our food and heats left over ones.  We have long gotten rid of the nuke machine – to give way to a healthier lifestyle.  I’m not much of a photographer as the hubby is.  I want to learn all right, I just don’t have the diligence to.   Maybe when I got a hold of that dream D60. ;-) Happy photo hunting, everyone!

mommy moments

This is my second mommy moments post. It surely made me go back memory lane and felt thankful that I was able to capture all those moments. These photos were taken either from the traditional film camera or my then Sony Ericsson S700i.

feeding-time

This shot was taken the day after I gave birth to our son via lamaze/bradley method, almost four years ago.  The labor lasted for almost two days and gave birth with almost zero anaesthesia.  I had to be drugged a little during the closing up of the episiotomy.

jeff-and-jed

The hubby and our son.  This was taken in Pancake House at the Fort after one Sunday morning service.  The hubby happily attends to our son as it was my turn to eat my lunch without having to mind the little guy.  The baby came after three years of being married.  Adjustments were sweet instinct.  The inconveniences almost became immaterial.  This little guy slept through the night from the second month.  Thanks to Babywise.

:-)

semi-solid

His first semi-solid was Cerelac.  I did not know better then.  After a couple of months, I bought a grinder and started cooking organic brown rice alongside mashed fleshy veggies and fruits.  He still eats brown rice to this day.  The first attempts to semi-solids were funny.  His instict was to suck the little teaspoon and kept making a mess all over his mouth.  He soon got the hang of it.

I was tagged by SugarFree Maui!

Here are the rules of this tag:

1. Write down who tagged you.

2. Answer these:

-your name / username / pseudo

-right-handed or left-handed?

-your favorite letters to write?

-your least favorite letters to write?

- Write The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.

3. Tag five persons.

It has been a while since I last used pen and paper to write. I so got used to typing messages, letters and articles either via keyboard or my mobile’s keypad.  I even list my grocery items via My Grocery java software installed in my phone. I was so thrilled to have received a PM from Maui this morning that I got tagged and I have not done memes in a while as you must have noticed. :D

Have fun with this tag as I did!

Jed is watching Madagascar 2 from the hubby’s mobile while munching on his favorite cream cheese sandwich for merienda  as he waited for us to leave church.

Admittedly, a mobile cartoon movie can be very handy for parents who have toddlers. But as much as I allow this, I still  limit his watching time whether from mobile or the television. :D

mommy moments

This entry is almost a week late, but given that this is my first post for Mommy Moments, I hope I get away with it.  Feb 6 Mommy Moments is all about the first smile of your kid/s.  I still have a day before the next to its sequel.

firstsmile-july-6-2005

This was taken on July 6, 2005.  My son’s first conscious smile. We all know that babies smile for a handful of different reasons.  All those baby books explain that it is but natural for babies to smile in their sleep, even hours after the baby’s birth and so on and so forth. Possibly one of the most precious milestones of a baby’s growth is when s/he begins to respond to you through smiling and even cooing.

Taken a couple of days back when the hubby saw our son making silly faces while he was drinking his milk from the cup. He loves playing pretend (sad, happy, angry, et.al). This time he was experimenting with frowning while raising his right brow and then the left. It helps that I always have our camera within reach. I wasn’t even able to properly set the camera correctly, I just had to click away. :-)

Later that Saturday night for Ana’s homecoming celeb, while feasting on tons of pizza and chicken (courtesy of Ana). It is just fun to get together with old friends. Although it would’ve been better if we were complete. :-)

This is one of the photos my son loves to look at as he remembers the Subic getaway we had with Gina’s family, October of last year. It will be a year since and my boy still remembers vividly details of that trip. We hope to be with them soon. :-)

We haven’t tried bringing our little guy to one of those kids’ hair cutters salons. Aside from it can be pricey, it will not make sense when I can do the job myself. For those who are not in the know, which I assume most are, I have been doing hair trimming since I was in middle school (thanks to my willing victims, my mama and sis) ;-) and even got to learn to do my own hair. It all started when almost each time I regretted going to the salon to get my hair trimmed by someone else. They would all assure me that they’d only take off two inches of hair, but I end up losing five or more inches. Made me upset, especially when all I wanted is to get those nasty ends clipped. Anyway, since I have been trimming the little guy’s hair for more than three years now, I have devised a way how to get him settled. The Barney Show! Although I would often have to plead with him that it’s okay to sing with Barney and Friends, but please leave the dancing for later. ;-) Read the rest of this entry »
