1. I feel exited and blessed about the hubby’s upcoming 34th birthday.

3. Right now, I can hear these things: my son chattering away as he brushes his teeth.

4. Jeff is turning 34 years old on Sunday and I’m glad to celebrate another day in his life again.

5. The last time I cried was last week.

6. We hope to go to the park this Labor day weekend.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to sleeping early (t’was a real long day), tomorrow my plans include finishing up some articles and Sunday, I want to enjoy celebrating with the hubby on his birthday!

1. He was a one year old boy when I was born. That’s the hubby. This week’s birthday boy.

2. A cooler, breezy day is what I look forward to most this time of year.

3. My best friend is none other than my husband, Jeff.

4. It is so easy to be honest with you.  This is what I often feel about my husband.  It pays to have integrity in your marriage.

Thanks to Chris of Mommy Journey for coming up with interesting things on Mommy Moments. This week is Time Out with Friends. Since my son is an “unico hijo,” his friends mostly are adults. No wonder he went straight from babbling to talking. No baby talks along the way.

Once a week he gets to have time with children in church. And boy is he really glad every time, that he never seems to run out of energy. These are some snapshots of times that he spends with friends at church. He actually learned doing that “peace sign” from them.

And his favorite friend in the world, so far. They haven’t seen each other for two years but he can easily locate London from his little globe, where his friend Cham-Cham is. From time to time he would ask about her and two weeks ago, his father and I were flabbergasted when he all of sudden asked out of nowhere, “Mama, can I marry Cham-Cham when I grow up?” Tell me, what do I make of such statement!

6. My family and an old friend; those were the cast of characters in a recent dream and it was a silly one. 

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to finish all pending tasks, tomorrow my plans include following up on some of the people from our church’s database and Sunday, I want to have fun with our family and celebrate SBC-Makati’s 6th year!

If there is anything that I will not run out of when it comes to our little guy, it is those silly moments.  He is probably the happiest boy and despite his being an only child, he has learned to find ways to entertain not just himself, but others around him as well.

Taken when we were waiting for his papa inside the church office.  He was probably bored waiting when he started doing this silly dance. Succeeding photos are just random silly photos during the last few months.

This week’s Mommy Moments is particularly hard for me. You see I take around 500 shots a month since the little guy is born, so choosing from amongst the thousands can be pretty challenging for anyone. 

Any wife and mother will always find joy when she sees her beloved partner in life sinking beautifully into fatherhood with so much grace like my dear husband does.  For someone who has an absentee father for more than half of his life, he is thoroughly excelling in this area.  Proof that it is ultimately a man’s choice what he decides to be and not be dictated by his past circumstance.  For this matter, whatever kind of family of origin he came from.  I love Jeff more each day for being the kind of man he is and the father that he is to our child.

We really made sure we celebrated through the holidays.  Two days were to celebrate Papa’s 60th birthday and the rest were spent with our families: our own and church family.

The little guy had his hair trimmed again. It’s his third time with the barber’s and it looks like he’s really used to it already. Except for the time that he kept on playing with the trimmed hairs that fall on the trimming cape and the hairs went flying to his eyes. He stopped right then when he felt the sting.  He has really warmed up to the barber’s procedure from the shaving to the trimming and the vacuuming.

And what could be more appropriate but top the celebration with the communion and baptism service. Both of which symbolize the very essence of the season. Baptism and the Lord’s supper reminds us about the Savior’s death, burial and resurrection. The elements used during Communion, the unleavened bread and wine, represent Jesus’ broken body and His shed blood. The baptism by immersion shows perfectly the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. It also is parallel to what happens to a believer when he accepts Christ as Lord and Savior as described in 2 Corinthians 5:17. The old life dies to sin, is buried and a new life in Christ begins.

The photo we took just before we left for church this morning.

It was early last week when I found out that I was hitting 106lbs.  I weighed the heaviest when I was in college (at 107lbs.)  Of course minus that time that I was prego, wherein I hit 126lbs. on the scale. I understand that this might not sound heavy for a lot, but believe me a 5ft. gal like me feels really heavy at 103lbs. The best weight that I can be in is between 98 to 102lbs. I tip a pound over and I feel downright heavy.  

So you can just imagine, when I tipped my Wii balance board and saw this?  

My personal trainer’s nagging tone is not really new to me anymore.  But realizing the fact that it has been too long when the gadget is right in front of me really says a lot about my not being disciplined enough.  Okay, before this post sounds like an opposite to what a Toot should be like,  wait until you see this…

Not bad eh. And the good news is in a week’s time I lost all the unwanted pounds that I had. I’m now doing 100.2 lbs. My diet wasn’t anything unusual at all. Just more of bananas and salad.  I actually indulged in cakes and gelatos once or twice.  All the while I thought I altogether lost my body’s ability to lose extra poundage easily because of age.  Apparently,  I still have it.  And boy am I thankful!  Now I don’t need to change wardrobes after all.

And…here we go!

1. When I look to the left, I see our dining table.

Jed was two months old when this photo was taken.  I used to give him a bath in his trusty blue green baby bath tub until he was almost a year old – atop the kitchen counter, beside the sink. 

This one was taken just before I was to give him a bath when he was three months old. This time, from my folks place.  That is my father’s hand supporting my cutie pie and that is my folk’s kitchen sink on the background.

With the heat of summer pressing on, it really looks like we are going to have to soak in the tub more frequently now. I hope summer won’t be as bad as last year’s.  It is good that I got back to using my seaweed slimming VCO, which keeps my skin cool for longer periods after bath.  It is actually hitting two birds with one stone.  My quick fix.  If I don’t get back to working out, I would seriously need to look for some weight loss pills that work.  Meanwhile, as I checked the ingredients, they are all natural, maybe I could have my son use it sparingly so he will be fresh for longer periods after baths too.

Having said all that, I am looking forward to giving my son a bath, thrice a day and getting his huge inflatable pool set up in the garage very soon.   Why not enjoy summer, while we are at it, right?

It has been a while since I last joined the PhotoHunters.  Their theme for this week is warm.  For lack of finding  a better shot, I took a picture of the trusty stove top that cooks our food and heats left over ones.  We have long gotten rid of the nuke machine – to give way to a healthier lifestyle.  I’m not much of a photographer as the hubby is.  I want to learn all right, I just don’t have the diligence to.   Maybe when I got a hold of that dream D60. Happy photo hunting, everyone!

This is my second mommy moments post. It surely made me go back memory lane and felt thankful that I was able to capture all those moments. These photos were taken either from the traditional film camera or my then Sony Ericsson S700i.

This shot was taken the day after I gave birth to our son via lamaze/bradley method, almost four years ago.  The labor lasted for almost two days and gave birth with almost zero anaesthesia.  I had to be drugged a little during the closing up of the episiotomy.

The hubby and our son.  This was taken in Pancake House at the Fort after one Sunday morning service.  The hubby happily attends to our son as it was my turn to eat my lunch without having to mind the little guy.  The baby came after three years of being married.  Adjustments were sweet instinct.  The inconveniences almost became immaterial.  This little guy slept through the night from the second month.  Thanks to Babywise.  

His first semi-solid was Cerelac.  I did not know better then.  After a couple of months, I bought a grinder and started cooking organic brown rice alongside mashed fleshy veggies and fruits.  He still eats brown rice to this day.  The first attempts to semi-solids were funny.  His instict was to suck the little teaspoon and kept making a mess all over his mouth.  He soon got the hang of it.
