Lately, my son and I have been watching lots of animated movies such as Finding Nemo, The Incredibles and Cars which is his favorite. My wife recently downloaded some extra videos of Jed’s favorite movie and it is about Mater, Lightning McQueen’s companion, and the ghost light. The beginning of that short movie contains a background music of some country music which sounds really nice and kind of relaxing and laid back.

A good source of music in this genre is HDRadio.com. Country music lovers can listen to new country music stations all around US or particular Florida High Definition Radio stations. HD Radio is not like satellite radio. It is a ground antenna based radio or simply a digital version of FM and AM. If you listen with a Polk Audio I-sonic ES2 you can even “tag” the songs that you like in your iPod and then download and buy the songs from the iTunes music store at a later time when you sync your iPod to your laptop or PC.

In dealing with young people, it is very important to understand their culture. Many young people like rap music. In fact, many of them who are also into social networking, embed rap videos in their profile page. They might even have gotten the video from RapArtists.com which is a source of information about rap artists and their music, albums, discography and many others. We just encourage the youth that we deal with to be cautious in choosing the songs they listen to, based on its content and lyrics.

cher_100.jpgMy first encounter with Cher was when I was a college freshman. It was more than a decade ago when I first heard a remake of the song that she and her former partner, Sonny Bono popularized back when they were still an item. I instantly fell for the song and had to do quite a research on their original version. I loved it. As the years went by, Cher did a movie and then recorded a hit making song that ushered her back to the throne where she once was.

When Kuya Jessie, a friend blogger, wrote about her in one his previous articles, it was only then that it occurred to me that she was already as old as my mother. It is just ultra amazing that there is just no trace of old age in this immortal diva. My own mother cannot even believe it when I told her that they are the same age. Can you believe it, that she is even back doing concerts? My mother is scheduled to fly to America next month and she just might want to buy one of those Cher Tickets at Caesars Palace to watch her live. Her relaunch to the concert scene is a much awaited event to many of her fans.

Father’s Day is fast approaching and my wife has been asking me what gift I would like to receive. I have thought about getting a second laptop, or maybe just giving me one free night a week to get my exercise routine back and go back to play soccer with my teammates. But as I was surfing in the internet, I came across this great contest by Charter that can allow me to spend Father’s Day in HD. Read the rest of this entry »

The hubby and I each have 1 and 2gb micro sd cards in each of our music phones. Why such heavy memory? Simple, aside from the fact that I snap photos on just about everything, we both are music lovers. More than half of the memory stored in each of our sd cards are of music, carefully categorized by genre. I even have a special folder for the little guy too. He loves music as well. He would sing all day long if he can and lulls himself to sleep with just about any song that pops in his head.

Just when I thought bloggers have enough on their plates to get entertained, I came across a funny blog. This blog’s tag line is “poking life with a big stick,” in itself just about gives you an idea that you’re in for a good laugh. Now a typical day in a blogger’s life could actually take alternate schedules more than just posting entries and dropping cards. Read the rest of this entry »

tv.jpgWe recently had our cable service terminated. The Sun/Sky team up did not prove to be beneficial to us loyal subscribers. The bad reception and frequent interruptions are just too much for the amount they charge every month. It is just ridiculous. Honestly, we don’t consider it a loss. We rarely watch television in this household anyway. If there would be any time the television went on, it was but the few hours a day we allow our little guy to watch his educational videos plus Thomas and His Friends from Cartoon Network which he is crazy about. This explains why dear sister and I bought him Thomas and His Friends toys for his birthday.

I just remember a few months back, Rose lent me a dvd of a Korean TV Series, “To Marry A Millionaire.” At first I thought the story revolved around a Nouveau Riche character. Read the rest of this entry »

When my son comes of age I have always thought about doing stuff I’ve never done and how I would like for us to do the together. Well, that is if my wife allows us. But some of the things I have always thought of doing are skydiving, hang gliding, and base jumping, and hope that the parachute would open. I would also love to take my son trekking and maybe spend a night or two up on a mountain. Tha’s not too extreme though. But it doesn’t have to be extreme anyway. But I like doing difficult things, because I take each of the as a challenge. Difficult is worth doing.

Just like how Honda makes great ads which conveys the integrity and quality of each car they make, most especially the Honda Accord. A video clip from Honda is embedded below showing more about what I just mentioned.

I was confined in the hospital, with my mother as my company, when Pacquiao and Marquez had their fight in Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas last March 16, Manila time. I remember my mother getting all ablaze over the whole fight, while I was knocked out and would doze off in between fights.

At 62, she is just so full of energy over such a sport. It fascinates me big time. I was just talking to her this morning and she was really thrilled to report to me that up to now Dela Hoya is still fighting at his age. My dear mother would just go on and on about the fascinating place Mandalay Bay is. She was just there last year and she hopes to go back and visit again this year. I’m sure with the boxing fanatic my groovy mother is, she would grab ahold of those Mayweather vs De La Hoya tickets in a heartbeat when she gets the chance. Read the rest of this entry »

To lead a balanced life is very important. All of the world is based on this principle of balance. The principle of nature is that the world is perfectly balanced. It is tilted at a certain angle and rotates at a certain number of miles per hour without any vibration. If the world were a little bit closer to the sun we would burn up and if it were a few miles further away from the sun we would freeze to death. The world is in balance.

In nature, the ecologists study the ecosystems where the food chain and the checks and balances in nature take care of each other. In architecture, there’s balance. There’s the balance within a structure. Engineers know that if a building isn’t built right and the stress isn’t balanced, it will collapse or a bridge will fall through. In our body, doctors say when we get sick, it is an imbalance in our body. Health comes when our body is restored to balance. The red and white corpuscles are balanced and your hormones are balanced.

All through life, in everything we look at, it all focuses toward equilibrium — the principle of balance. That’s why it is important to have enough time for work, family, spiritual things and even recreation. We must be balanced in all areas in our mental, physical, spiritual, emotional and social lives.

Recreation, for many busy people may come in many forms. There are people who enjoy outdoor activities like picnics, a long drive into the country, a walk in the park, playing a sport or even a trek or a hike in the mountains. For other people their recreation may come in the form of playing with their children in the backyard, playing board games, playing the Nitto 1320 Legends – Free Live Online Drag Racing Game or simply reading a book they love.

I woke up today with a smile on my face. Who wouldn’t? I was sleeping in my own warm bed, not anymore in the frigid bed of the hospital and beside me was my cutie pie son who I have not cuddled with for such a long time. My son went to our room in the middle of the night and decided he would spend the night. I would not have minded if he slept till morning, he just stayed an hour and he realized he wanted to sleep in his own bed so there he went back to his own room. My little big boy.

I have missed my son so much and have been toying with thoughts about getting away to hang out with my family, especially when I saw that NFR Tickets are now available for the taking. It would be nice to getaway after the storm. I would say this is even more timely as it is vacation time. Tomorrow is the official start people from the workplace to enjoy their vacation. A real long weekend for all of us here. I am excited to be out of the hospital just in time for this.

I think our family has definitely caught up with technology, but not necessarily the latest. We started out with phones because that was what we could afford. My wife and I slowly worked on upgrading our phones, selling the old ones and buying more advanced units, until we got the features we wanted. As for a computer, we started out with a AMD 1.7Ghz three or four years ago but got conned when we had it repaired. So, we had to settle for a Pentium 3 and that’s when we started to have the opportunity to surf as long as we wanted, starting out with a dial up service. When we moved in to our own house last year we upgraded to wireless connection at 384 kbps max. As blessings came last December we were able to upgrade our computer to a dual core with our megabook. Now, I’m thinking of maybe upgrading to an Apple iPhone (just kidding, Jen, but that’s really what I want for Valentine’s day ☺).

Well, this is just sharing how technology can really work on our own vanity. We don’t forget to thank God for the blessings we have received (most of what we have in our house including a big chunk of the megabook are gifts) and enjoy.

But, since I’m thinking along the line of technology, why not indulge me for a moment? With an iPhone, surfing, listening to music and communicating would be so easy without the hassle of carrying so many gadgets. Plus, there’s Planet-iPhones.com, a site where an iPhone can be customized. Downloading an iphone wallpaper Read the rest of this entry »

Music is rapidly changing as time progresses and we are seeing some new innovations and great ideas coming into place. I could say that we are one musical family. Our inclinations towards music are natural. I could say that especially with my son, Jed. My husband is into rock, ska and always makes sure he gets into the latest music band news. My son sings non-stop and would sing all the songs that he has memorized (which is plenty, by the way) to put himself to sleep. Read the rest of this entry »
