After having made the big switch and now that we are two months in, we are definitely satisfied with the service of our current internet provider. There really is no reason to be stuck if there’s an alternative that will provide better service. Except that in the previous years there was really no other option for us from the internet offers and we refused to go back to a dial up connection.
The hubby and I are so looking forward to a neat adventure this coming week. It will be one whole day thing and we have to gear up for that Amazing Race type of adventure. He is so clueless how I am going to endure anything physical, I told him off with my watch-and-see look. Which reminds me that I have to be more regular with my workouts. As we prepare for that big day, we had to check all the essentials. The hubby definitely needs a pair of decent shoes that he will need to over take everyone else in the game.
Incidentally, I found what is possibly the neatest internet shoe shopping site Shoebacca.com. It fits us to a T. I am so meticulous when it comes to online shopping and this is the only one that guarantees clients up to a 120%. The guarantee is that if you find another site that lists the same exact product that they have at a lower price, they will refund us 120% of the price difference. What online shopping site offers that? None!
After seeing the Retro Air Jordans that our little guy received for Christmas, I am looking into getting a pair of retro shoes of my own and maybe a pair of Retro Nike for the hubby to match ours. Â It has been a number of good years already that online shopping has provided convenience for me and the discovery of sites like this makes it all better. I do not just experience convenience but am actually guaranteed a better value for our money.
If you are looking into how to start a website hosting company, you can actually try venturing into selling hosting packages, for starters. There are various reseller hosting packages at WebHostingRevenue that you can check out. They are currently offering a ‘stimulus’ package using the promo code STIMULUS09 which can instantly provide you savings as you start your online business.
Â
The features that WebHostingRevenue Hosting has are great and come with three website templates for your Build You Own Web Hosting Company and they come in three reseller packages, namely, Utimate 15 (15GB disk space and 150 GB bandwidth), Ultimate 30 (30GB disk space and 300 GB bandwidth) and Ultimate 60 (60GB disk space and 600 GB bandwidth). The templates come with 19 color variations to help you make your business site unique. They also come with free unbranded WHMCS billing software, marketing tools, videos that will train (setting up the business does not necessarily need some experience on your part), a guarantee that your business will be up and running in two days and some of the standard features that reseller hosting offers.
Â
I have never really tried this one, but I think the free marketing tools they have are very helpful although that doesn’t really provide any assurance that business will boom right away. Â Bottom line, this is a great opportunity for those who want to involved in e-commerce, knowing that the internet is still not saturated and the market is continuously growing. Â My Rating for WebHostingRevenue.com is 4 out of 5 stars.
The above template ran for more than one year. Boy was it hard to let go of old habits! I often toyed with the idea of changing themes but it was not until was a nights days ago when a fellow blogger gave us real valid reasons for us to make the change. What could be neater than a tutorial via Plurk? Thanks Itot! Please know that we super appreciate your help and for indulging our every question. ou rock, bro! After all the several things that he taught us how to better handle our website, I did not waste a minute and worked with the hubby until 4 A.M. that day (we started late by the way). The first theme we chose wasn’t working so we had to work from scratch and we couldn’t just leave this site overnight (even just for a few hours with all the widgets and posts in disarray!)
After having been attached to our former template, we officially welcomed this new look. I hope you would too. I still miss the old look but this one is friendlier in more ways than one – if you know what I mean.
It has been a while since I last recognized this site’s top Entrecard droppers. To start the year right, it is only fitting to give credit to whom it is due. Thus, this list of Marriage and Beyond‘s Top EC Droppers for January 2009. Thank you for the constant visits. I understand that with EC dropping, it is easy to just drop and go. Whatever the case, whether you are amongst who drop and go or linger for a while or two, allow us this appreciation for those faithful drops.
Lately, my wife and I have become quite busy and entertained by a social network site that is very interactive and connects us to many people whom we consider friends.
Â
Just today, we bumped into a new social network that connects people in a unique and different way. It is actually more appropriate to describe it as a consumer network because of the way they connect the members in their network. They connect members according to their interests, like the movies they watch, games they play, music they listen to and so much more.
Â
Try visiting Acobay and start connecting with people in a unique way.
Here is our three year old, getting savvy on learning how to box. His other favorite is golf. It is fun how he knocked out his father during one of their games. This is probably the single game console I will freely allow him to play-but with limits still. The few times I allow him to play with his aunt’s psp, he gets zombified. Adults aren’t immune to having that effect, let alone a three year old. I love that this console involves physical activity and interaction with the family.
As much as the hubby is into online games (which is why choosing between video cards was one of the prime things he considered when he bought his laptop), we don’t want the little guy to get into this generation’s addiction. There are many issues about kids being glued to these consoles, even grade school students missing classes just to linger in internet shops to play online games. I know we can’t stop technology from its inevitable progress but we can choose to do our best to manage the way we allow it to affect our children. It is the only way to not allow the advancement of today’s world go against the quality of lives that we want for our families. :-)
First, I would like to thank the people who got out of their way to email and check with me why this site was not accessible yesterday. Marriage and Beyond was down for at least 20 hours. Thank you, Polly and Lainy and another fellow Entrecarder from Online Social Networking Site who still made a way to visit even via his browser’s cache.
It was a couple or so days ago when I got a heads up from our blogging mentor/friend, Neil, that I have got to back up my database and files quick because his sites were apparently hacked and it looked like it pointed to the host which happens to be where this site and our other site are hosted. I can’t imagine losing this online journal, all with close to a thousand posts with entries dating as far back as 2005. No way, Jose! This site contains a whole lot of milestones and events in our family that are too important to lose.
We have put up with our internet connection for almost two years now. What should be up to a 384kbps connection speed, averages at less than a hundred in most days. Even less than 50, would you believe, in real bad days? It took its turn for the worse during the holidays. We have refreshed our connection more than twenty times, today alone. Here is a fresh speedtest report, to prove that I am not exaggerating.
And just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse (at least for the day), I ran the speedtest again after two hours and here’s what the result says. Now a dial up doesn’t sound so bad after all.
I am happy to report that I came from PLDT today to seal our DSL Broadband connection subscription. The set up boys will come in the next three days. Yipee! From what I know SmartBro and PLDT are like sister companies. But I have also heard that SmartBro messes up a lot and PLDT delivers better, at least in our vicinity.
Would you believe that this application for DSL connection is over two years old? It was only recently that a slot was made available and I was next in queue. To begin with, I only subscribed to SmartBro because I needed a decent connection and an upgrade from my then dial up. Venturing into an online business with just a dial up did not really sound very promising. But come to think of it, I could really have stuck with it and survived. We are given such headache by SmartBro anyway, half the time we are with them (present tense but soon to be past- can’t wait to write in the former tense). It is such joy to finally be terminating my connection with SmartBro- the supposedly smart company that does not measure up.
Over the holidays, a blogger named Jeremy Schoemaker posted a blog entry about the Google Money Tree and the Hydra Affiliate Network who had both something to do with the use of his photo for ads bought on big sites like HuffintonPost.com, ESPN.com, MySpace and Fox even news. This blogger also posted screenshots of the pages where his picture was used, all pointing to the Google Money Tree System which, he says, “appears to be one of the biggest scams” online. It was the first quarter of last year when I first thought about putting up an online store. I have always been curious how a website that involves e-commerce could work out for me. If this plan has pushed through, getting a merchant account is definitely a possibility. Read the rest of this entry »
Sweet! I was somewhere inside the house, when my younger sister, Rose, gushed over how my three year old son was dropping EC cards for me. He’d click on the cards and close the tabs. I had to see for myself! You see, I habitually just open several tabs (90 to be exact= that is 5columns x 18rows) via the good ‘ol Firefox add-on linky and just leave them as I do some regular things around the house. I just come back when I’m done with everything else that needs to get done. I remember a few times my son asked me what I was doing and I just told him that I was dropping cards. It stuck to him, plus he took on the details of what I would do as I drop cards. Does this mean I could actually outsource my daily dropping task? LoL!
Just when you thought we have gone cold to blogging, here comes yet another site to watch out for. It is still in its infancy stage but we are hopeful about its potential. An online resource that focuses on learning practical steps to rapidly pay-off debts, including mortgage, through debt reduction strategies.

But got reinstated. It was around ten in the morning today when I received an email from the EC admin and it reads:
Your account ‘Marriage and Beyond’ on entrecard.com has been deleted. The administrator gave the following reason: rule 5, http://entrecard.com/docs/doku.php?id=blog_quality_standards
Apparently, this blog has been violating Rule #5 which I had no idea that it was. I emailed them back with this response:
I don’t understand. Per rule no.5, my site MarriageandBeyond.com has no full screen ads or pop-ups, making the reason for my account to be deleted as invalid. I hope my blog gets reinstated or give me a better reason why you cannot accept my blog on Entrecard. I have been diligently cautious to make sure my blog follows your TOS, and have remained very active, even getting my blog in the top 10 most popular sites. Please contact me the soonest. I need to understand.
