Here is a website that is currently making waves and parents should be made aware of - Omegle.com. Yesterday was the first time I visited the site and it surely gave me the creeps! All one has to do was head over the site, choose between text or video chatting and you are basically hooked up with a stranger online.

May 2 is World Bloggers Day. Wow! Bloggers have really gone a long way since.  My blogging journey started in 2004 via Babababies.com when I first learned that we were pregnant. I used to do the old school diary when I was younger. And I couldn’t go right back to that when I cannot anymore find those journals I have filled through the years.

Web blogging was the answer to my wanting to have every milestone of our journey towards parenting recorded. Online journal won’t rot, tarnish and yellow and they will look the same through the years. I later moved to Multiply and in the late 2007, claimed the domain for Marriage and Beyond. Our purpose for blogging since evolved to just recording milestones, to monetizing websites, to ministering to others as we share bits and pieces about marriage, parenting and everything in between.  Here is the 2005 Archive of Marriage and Beyond. This main site since gave birth to a host of different sites with their own niches.

The hubby and I are celebrating! The online campaign that we have been doing finally paid off! Not exactly paid yet. Pay out is not until next month. ;-) But learning tiny bit of tricks here and there got us to want to venture into leveling up from what we are currently doing to exploring the rest of the horizon, which used to look so blurry.

If you have read the article in the current issue of Good Housekeeping magazine, you would have read a handful on how we make money online. While I do it in a full time basis, the hubby does when he has free time. Which is not very much.

The hubby and I were able to attend the launch of SMilDS Connect last week. It was an interesting introduction to a very promising business software solution that will prove to be very convenient for online enthusiasts and entrepreneurs. Here’s to give you a glimpse of what this complete E-Commerce solution is all about.

Kikay Corner has been selling organic thanakha online for close to a year now and the launch of SMilDS could not have been more timely because I have plans to switch to a dedicated online store from its current state of being a mere page in my beauty blog.

ChristianHomeschooler.info

We might have mentioned once or twice from previous posts that we now have our newest blog live — ChristianHomeschooler.info. Yes, it is one of the reasons why we have stalled in posting some updates for this blog. Thank you for your continuous visit despite the lack of updates, though.  We just love homeschooling so much that we were afraid we were just going to flood MarriageandBeyond.com with homeschool related posts.  Which is actually accepted as it can always belong to the “Beyond” phase.  But then again, as a web content writer who maintains niched blogs, we deemed it better to have a separate one to journal our homeschooling journey.

Aside from our DSL connection at home, the hubby and I have had two internet broadband sticks (Smart – prepaid) and Sun (postpaid), until recently that we also got a hold of a Globe Tattoo that came for free from my anniversary gift to him – a netbook.  I was actually surprised because I kind of gotten used to the two other broadbands’ ultra slow responses. The free Globe Tattoo that came with the netbook has been responding pretty satisfactorily. I claimed the tattoo stick as mine and it was okay with the hubs because we were really planning to get a tattoo for myself,  after being frustrated over the connection speed of the two other broadband that we’ve had.

We’ve been well aware of the broadband wars, which really got us to try each one. It has been two days since I got the Globe Tattoo and so far, so good I love the speed it gives me. It may be that I always get good coverage around the areas I connect to the internet.

MarriageandBeyond.com is to turn two in a few weeks time. With this in mind, I was reminded to once again back up all my files, not that I expect the same nightmare happening with our current web host. It is just something that we have got to get used to doing on a regular basis.

As we turn two years old, we hope to be more wise as we hope to have this site progress by existing for its purpose. I am slowly getting a hold of some technicalities, but still not much. A more interesting discovery is that this site has generated sitelinks via Google. I first did not know what that meant and I haven’t fully figured it out yet. But one thing for sure is that we’re doing something good and Marriage and Beyond’s articles are of value.

It was when the hubby and I came home Saturday night when I first noticed that MarriageandBeyond.com, which is hosted with EzNet-Hosting.com is down. All the while I thought it was a temporary glitch brought about by the sudden unreliability of EZNet-Hosting.com, wherein which this site is hosted. Imagine my dismay when I saw that their site was down as well. Things in my head came into play. All the what ifs you could possibly think of. What if their server was hacked, etc. Jeff checked the “who is” tab to know if it is still registered with the same person a certain Dale character with the email address dalem01@ntlworld.com. The same person we transacted with when I subscribed to their one year hosting service last January. It is still under his name. We decided to give it a day until we will have this site propagated to my husband’s unlimited account with HostGator.

What happened with our hosting with EzNet-Hosting is too frustrating for me to feel anything else since. I paid them last January 2009 in good faith for a hosting service to last a year. After a day and the site is not still up, I knew we have got to decide. It was later affirmed when I cannot even access the control panel of my site. We also found out from the “who is” button that EzNet-Hosting.com is not registered with the same person anymore. That is less than a day since we last checked when it was still with dalem01@ntlworld.com. That’s as easy as letting us know that we’ve been had. If the site was hacked, then all this information below would have been opted by the new owner to be concealed by paying a minimal amount to set his “who is” to private.

The information on the current owner of EzNet-Hosting.com:

This is the fourth banner forMarriageandBeyond.com. From its generic shore picture that came with the theme, we changed it when we won a banner header design fromOur Love Story

MAB old header

Dear hubby installed the header above when 2009 came in. It was not the best family picture we have, we just picked any random picture to paste even as we were shifting to a “friendlier” layout/template. Read the rest of this entry »

With this LolaTechie going around as the most recent marketing strategy of this telephone company, I think my mom could easily come close to a second when it comes to groovy grandmas who are able to ride the waves of technology. She has always been computer savvy right from the early 80′s. While most of my classmates in grade school have yet to see what a computer does, we have been exposed to it.
