Even if I never had issues with my son when it comes to taking medication or vitamins, for this matter, it is fun to know that that there is actually this Pop Rocks Vitamin C, that is, VitaPops. Because we have a son for a sweet tooth, this can easily replace the regular PopRocks candies he’s gotten used to. What’s good about this is it also addresses my son’s nutritional need for Vitamin C.

Unilab sent me 5 packets of VitaPops for us to sample. Thank you, Unilab! We received these when we were just about to leave for the airport to fly to Cebu earlier this month. It was timely since I did not have to bring my son’s usual Vitamin C supplement with us. I had him sample one packet before I stashed away the rest in his carry on bag, for later use.
I just thought of taking a video of Jed as he was having a taste of VitaPops for the first time. And what he had to say was: “Yum! Yum! I want more!” That’s my sweet tooth little guy right there.
Aside from us loving that this Pop Rocks candy is actually a Vitamin C supplement, its being Sodium Ascorbate instead of Ascorbic Acid, which Vitamin C usually comes in, makes it all the more special. Sodium Ascorbate is friendly to the tummy. Look, Ma, no acid!
Because most Vitamin supplements in the market for kids are those that boost their appetites, I only really give my son Vitamin C. He already is a heavy weight at 90 pounds, 4’3″ tall and he is only 7 years old. If at all, we are having him go easy on his food intake and incorporate daily physical activities with the neighborhood kids. Vitamin C has become a non-negotiable supplement for our son. Since we had him take regularly, we noticed that his immune system is boosted. Less occurrence of colds and cough. If he would at all get it, it would only take 2 days tops and he’s free of colds.
For children who are 7 to 12 years old, suggested dosage is 1 to 2 sachets or as directed by the pediatrician. It is the healthier alternative to our children’s Pop Rocks candy addiction. I’m not kid, but I’ve always loved Pop Rocks candies to this day. So I think I can indulge in one or two sachets from time to time without the guilt.
VitaPops are from the makers of Ceelin and it is the First and Only Pop Rocks Vitamin C. VitaPops is available in drugstores nationwide and retails for P10 per sachet.

I’ve tried this too, but the problem is my 4 year old won’t stop eating it and I’m afraid he’ll overdose on Vitamin C, if that’s even possible..

Rap loves Vitapops! He brings 1 sachet to school everyday and takes it as dessert after his lunch.
