There is no way I can join my boys when they roughhouse bond. They do crazy things that I cannot go near them or I will end up getting hurt. Read the rest of this entry »

It was just recently that the hubby and I noticed that we have practically done away with our “Couch Time.” We are not a perfect couple. We may stray away from what’s ideal from time to time. But we make sure that we go right back to the basics as soon as we are reminded about it.

Yesterday, I attended an event for parent bloggers where we were presented 2 of the most creative toys that were recently introduced in the market – ZipBin and RainbowBrush. Just to give you an idea what RainbowBrush is. Here is a video clip of how to get started with these creative pens.

Just Jewels launched Rings of Promise last April 21, 2010 at the Enderun Atrium in Fort Bonfacio, Taguig City. The event unveiled three custom-made wedding ring designs by Just Jewels endorser Dawn Zulueta-Lagdameo, columnist and designer Tessa Prieto-Valdez and designer Debbie Co. And what a timely launch this is, with the wedding month just around the corner.
People are built for relationships and marriage is the ultimate of it all. This is why the author of marriage, Jesus Christ Himself paralleled marriage to His relationship with His bride, the church. And from the mere traffic that Marriage and Beyond gets every single day, for the search string Christian wedding symbols, it tells that there are considerable number of couples who do not just marry in haste. They are intentional even as they would look into the very reasons why these symbols are there to begin with. The most prominent of which are the wedding bands – Rings of Promise.

And when I say job, I have plenty. If at all, multi tasking has become my forte. Aside from web content writing, covering events and being the sole queen of my household with no help, I also manage to do virtual assistant jobs for a few hours each day.

When I said I wanted to lose weight, I never meant to lose it in a manner that I have to get sick. But that’s what happened. Now that I think about it, our family was not able to get our flu vaccination for this year yet. Maybe it is time to get that scheduled soon.

I have been under the weather the last couple of weeks and it’s awful. The bug caught me and for some reason it stuck. Although my colds is not as bad, I still have the sniffles. I haven’t gotten sick for more than a year now and I was hoping this year will be as good as that of 2009. The sleepless nights have finally taken its toll on my poor immune system.

I miss cooking for my family like I used to. Don’t get me wrong, I love what I am doing. But for some reason, I really just miss the times that I prepare fabulous meals for the hubby and the kiddo. While I cannot exactly quit my job and jump into wearing my old chef queen crown, I’m hoping to learn more meals that are healthy but are also quick to prepare. I cannot anymore afford to do the nitty gritties of preparation for doing viands, casseroles, cakes and cookies, like I used to.

Statistics have it that it is more common for married couples to have affairs than they are to separate. This is definitely hands down one of the most heart breaking issues the hubby and I would deal with, with some people that we encounter from time to time. This is also why we are very passionate when it comes to influencing the younger generation to make the right decisions while they are in their youth.
More often than not a person carries the principles he had when he was in the dating scene to the time he will be married. And most likely, a compromising lifestyle in your youth will influence you for the rest of your adult life. There are few exceptions to the rule, true. But a compromise ceases to look like such when you have gone that road. Until that lie eats you up and you find yourself in the midst of a dysfunctional married relationship. A different, more modern culture does not change the need in a human’s heart to be loved faithfully.

A week after summer camp is over and I’m still waiting for the hubby to take me for a spin. We have not played catch up yet. That’s something we’d have to do before he leaves for Africa in a couple of months. We do have couch times at home. But sometimes we tend to forget especially with both our crazy schedules. I will be out of town twice this week alone, to cover some press and blog events.

The plan was for me to join my husband for a once a week run in Marikina Sports Center. A week after I got that lined up, it still has remained just that – a plan. It does not look very hopeful that I will at all be able to get that done anytime soon. Especially with my schedules blocked throughout the week.

We have decided that we will have to delay the construction of our home’s upstairs. The reason being, we need a vehicle that we don’t need to have repaired week in and week out. In less than a couple of weeks, we will be bringing home our very own spanking brand new baby. We are pretty excited about it. We have been praying about this for years and the Lord is ever faithful to have our prayers answered. Like He always would, in His perfect time.

The New Me
(Words and music by Jeffrey Aspacio, Copyright 2009)
Verse 1:
My old self
T’was a selfish life
So full of inner strife
I followed my path
Searched for riches and pleasure
The ones that I thought would last
But, I was wrong
What took me so long?
The world’s invitation’s so strong
It wasn’t too late
T’was part of my fate
Pre-chorus 1:
What good would it do
To get everything you want for you
And lose the real you?
So I made the change and now declare this to you!
Chorus 1:
I’m loud, and proud
‘Coz the new me has come
And the old one has gone
I’m loud, and proud
It feels good to be new
So liberating and true
I was lost, now am found
All those things in the past
I have left them at last
Yes I’m loud, just so proud
For the new opportunities
It’s great to just be the new me!
Verse 2:
What used to be
From it, I’m free
What joy it has given me
I followed the Path
Gained true riches and treasures
The ones that would truly last
Now everything’s right
I’ve seen the light
The NEW ME is shining so bright
It isn’t too late
Believe and have faith
Pre-chorus 2:
What good would it do
To get everything you want for you
And lose the real you?
So go make the change that’s what I dare you to do!
Chorus 2:
Be loud, be proud
‘Coz the new me has come
And the old one has gone
Be loud, be proud
It feels good to be new
So liberating and true
If you’re lost, you can be found
All those things in the past
You can leave them at last
Let’s be loud, let’s be proud
For the new opportunities
It’s great to just be the new me!
For the new possibilities
It’s great to just be the new me!
Go and use Glutamax
And you’ll SEE THE RESULTS,
The New Me!

When the year started, I said to myself that I am going to step out of my sedentary lifestyle and finally get back to a regular workout. I was not quite concerned about the kind of workout. All I knew is that I had to get myself to do something before it’s too late.

I feel so blessed. The Lord has definitely made Himself known to me and my family several times over, all these years. There is truth in His promises. I am mighty proud of the hubby especially for keeping to God’s calling of Him to pastor SBC-Makati, despite some odds along the way. And when I say odds, they were not just minor ones. They were huge enough that we would cry over them in prayer for years! But God saw us through. He saw our hearts. My husband who has always been the diplomatic type would always choose to step back and have the Lord fight for us and that He did!
The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD,
And He delights in his way.
Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down;
For the LORD upholds him with His hand.
Psalm 37:23-24
If there is anything about the ministry, it is definitely NOT FOR THE FAINT-HEARTED. Although there were challenges, everything will be bearable when your calling is clear and your purpose is set before you. Despite my being driven person, I found grace in the Lord for me to be able to submit to my husband despite the many hardships. I have several thoughts on this but I’d rather not spill everything because I know my God is bigger than all the imperfect things in this world.
