My cousin Esther and I woke up to aching bodies today. We got mad yesterday playing golf, tennis, boxing and many others via Wii. :-) I am crazy sore all over. The only time I felt like this was when I first played badminton for three hours, only this time it’s worse.

The hubby did not get to join us until he got home last night. He went to a couple of meetings. I am just glad that he has taken care to have his license replaced.  He lost a lot of cards, including IDs when he lost his wallet last month.

I am thoroughly grateful for all the Entrecard dropping, my cousin Esther has been doing for me and the hubby for some weeks now.  For this reason I have kept the standing of this blog amongst the popular sites in Entrecard.  Thanks, Esther!

A lot of things have kept me from doing my rounds this past holiday and even before that.  I am still pretty much loaded right now.  Multi-tasking different roles that I have is not the easiest, to say the least.  I have even failed to update a few of my other blogs because of this, failed to return visits, among other things.  It really is a matter of priority and the virtual world will always be secondary to family affairs and ministry.  Please know that despite the lack of reciprocation on my part, I am thankful for all the visits.  I will go visit you back the moment I get the chance.   I hope you are happily basking upon God’s grace this first week of 2009.   :-)

We are definitely having the time of our lives! What a joy it is to finally be reunited with my folks after having been several miles away for so many months. They got home at the wee hour early this morning and as much as we wanted to put off everything there was to do, we just couldn’t. We all hit the sack at around four in the morning!

As expected they both lavished us with nice and lovely gifts. One of the things that I remember receiving from my mother as a little girl were those pretty little sets of pearls. My sister and me, both have our own set and I remember basking over their loveliness. The ignorant me who do not know any better even wore the pearl necklace in my grade school class, the little “kikay” that I was. That kind of giddiness that I’ve had over the little things I still have with me to this day. Read the rest of this entry »

My folks are currently in transit and are probably in between Detroit and Nagoya, Japan. We are thrilled to have them back, to say the least. We were counting the days as early as last week! Six months is too long a time for us not to have them with us. Our little guy is the most excited. Last night I was having this conversation with my cheeky little man, I asked him if he is excited to see his grandpa and grandma or if he is more excited about the gifts they have with them for him. He stopped for a while and thought, he said he wants to see “lolo” and “lola” and also the gifts. Haha!

They are arriving late tonight. Jed Zachary is still probably sleeping soundly when they arrive home but he will surely have the time of his life waking up seeing his grandfolks around. :D

It was the first quarter of last year when I first thought about putting up an online store. I have always been curious how a website that involves e-commerce could work out for me. If this plan has pushed through, getting a merchant account is definitely a possibility. Read the rest of this entry »

healthier.jpgWhat better way to start the year than to make sure you do a health check and start with a healthier diet than you have had the previous year. As for the hubby and me, we recently just got a good bill of health from the result of the annual check up we did before 2008 ended. The unpredictable weather took its toll on my respiratory health these last couple of months and I am more than thrilled to have been cleared of anything alarming.

gettogether.jpg

Last weekend was made more special when a couple of my very close friends in middle school came over to our place – with their respective families in tow. It was actually a follow up on the recent get together we had last December in Eastwood. Lorna’s birthday this month was a neat excuse for us to yet again meet.  We really made sure we took advantage of the long holidays. Read the rest of this entry »

I don’t usually post my weekend snapshot until Monday, but this shot cannot wait till then.  We have been having a blast with this gang this holiday season.  Going places, hiking the highs and lows of Marikina, a couple of weeks back we all went to Pasay (except for Yvonne), we ate out, hang around  and just enjoyed the holidays together.

We actually were not too sure if we will still go on with the photo shoot yesterday because we were just too tired walking around the riverbanks to and fro that yummy chicken place.  We opted to just walk and go over bridges instead of having to drive to the place.  Save on gas and enjoy the cool breeze we don’t get to have so often this side of the earth.  It was fun, but I was exhausted!  I took the consensus of each one and all of them agreed to give the photo shoot a go.  We have had this coupon since last month and we just kept on putting it off.  The one time we agreed to have it done, we weren’t able to make it for some reason.  So there went our matching blue outfits.  But then again, it didn’t turn all that bad when we were more spontaneous.  :D

As much as we missed welcoming the new year with our parents (who will be home this coming Thursday- Wee!), we celebrated no less as we were together with family (both by blood and affinity). The kids watched a marathon of movies (Wall-E and Chicken Little) before the countdown and enjoyed a few sparklers, praising God for the grace-filled year that was and hopeful for an even fruitful 2009.

Our family headed to my sister and her hub’s house (the main house in our compound) and greeted each other happy new year with a kiss.  It is just fun being with family and loved ones and we just had to capture the moment with this shot -  our very first picture for the year 2009. :D

Our son’s current favorite toy is Ninong Ted and Tita Ninang Rose’s Christmas gift for him – his very own bike. Having got used to his twist car, it was not easy for him to learn to drive by pedaling. Twist cars move by maneuvering the wheel. In fact when we were in Tagaytay early last month, we went to a park where bikes are rented out and he did not get around to drive the little pedicab we got for him. Read the rest of this entry »

new-year-greeting.jpg

Even as the year 2008 was a blast for us, we are hopeful for an even better 2009! From the bottom of our hearts, we thank all of you who made this year a joyful ride for us. May the Lord’s blessings and guidance be upon all of us as we learn more in 2009. We hope to be better stewards of everything that God has entrusted us and will entrust us with and know Him more each day this year.   Life is too short to just throw it away along with all its tangibles.

Happy New Year, everyone! :D

 Love,

Jeff, Jennie & Jed
