We have pre-registered last November 6 and we are thrilled to be a part of this conference. We are basically sold out to the School of Tomorrow curriculum and we are already inclined to go for this when we formally start homeschooling our son next year. Somehow I just really need to look into this conference and be able to defend why SOT is still better. Having said that, I will still join the group with an open mind. Knowing in my heart that this group probably just about has the same agenda as SOT.

This will be this coming Saturday, November 22. I am very hopeful that by then, my sweet baby is well and has recovered from this viral thing. I have pre-arranged with my dear sister for her to care for him just for that day. :-)

Hi earthlingorgeous! You can contact Ces Bunnell 0917-8608565 or 633-5267 Loc 103. You can still pre-register today. Just ask her for the deposit details. Keep the slip and just show it tomorrow at the registration booth.

Yup, andon kami ni hubby sa NuffNang event, don ka din ba? It would have been a good venue for grand EB. :-) Nanalo pa nga si hubby ng gift cheque for being the first Nuffnanger to submit his entry.

Sure. I will check out your contest. Happy weekend! :D

That’s great! Homeschooling I think is something is not yet fully acceptable here in our country. Some of us are not still capable of doing it, including me.

However, I think this is a good alternative way of educating our children. The good thing about this is we will know exactly what our children is learning.

    Good luck!

Hi Kuya Angel! I agree. Homeschool isn’t exactly a popular choice here in the Philippines. I believe with the proper armor and preparation, it is really the better alternative. We agreed to keep at it while our son is in preschool. We don’t wanna rush and push him to big school when he’s sure not gonna miss that anyway. Given that a person really has to spend a whole lot of years in school so there’s really no reason to rush.

That’s also one of the reasons, we are able to control what gets inside the head of our son during his formative years. Then afterwhich it would be a lot easier for him to spread his wings and explore. We have ingrained the necessary foundation in his person by then.

    Hi again,

I don’t want to sound like a balimbing, but I am a bit curious about the behavior of a home school student when he goes out to a “real” school. I hope you can make a separate but special post about this homeschooling here in the Philippines.

Although I have read some posts about it, but never from a fellow Filipino who is actually doing it.

    Thanks!

kuya, I just found this link for an immediate read (I have yet to come up with an article on the topic.)

The hubby has attended a handful of conferences on the School of Tomorrow system, which is why he is really sold out to the idea of this kind of curriculum. I have met a handful of homeschooled individuals and they are all excellent and outstanding plus the fact that more than the academics, the values of these children blesses my heart! It actually makes gives me hope that the leaders of the future will redeem this country we live in through God’s grace! :-)

I checked the link you gave me, and it looks interesting. But of course, there are also cons. Again, I do not want to sound balimbing but I suggest that you provide the pros and cons when you make that post. I am pretty sure it will create a good discussion from your commentators.

Off topic: I am now watching Jessica Soho and she’s discussing different eye protection for computers like us.

How did the TMA seminar work? We enrolled our first child under the TMA program when we started homeschooling 5+ years ago. We miss CCF, our church family. But we did learn a lot from our experience with TMA and we’re still homeschooling our younger children.

    Cheers from,
