But got reinstated. It was around ten in the morning today when I received an email from the EC admin and it reads:
Your account ‘Marriage and Beyond’ on entrecard.com has been deleted. The administrator gave the following reason: rule 5, http://entrecard.com/docs/doku.php?id=blog_quality_standards
Apparently, this blog has been violating Rule #5 which I had no idea that it was. I emailed them back with this response:
I don’t understand. Per rule no.5, my site MarriageandBeyond.com has no full screen ads or pop-ups, making the reason for my account to be deleted as invalid. I hope my blog gets reinstated or give me a better reason why you cannot accept my blog on Entrecard. I have been diligently cautious to make sure my blog follows your TOS, and have remained very active, even getting my blog in the top 10 most popular sites. Please contact me the soonest. I need to understand.

I had to check with a friend blogger, JoanJoyce (who happened to be online via Gmail), if she sees any pop up and verified that there is no such thing. She was with me all throughout my “ordealâ€Â, hearing me out with my rants about this unfortunate event. Thanks, sis! 
Even though EC’s TOS is suppose to serve as warning for bloggers to make sure to comply with, I just felt it was just overboard when you get deleted for something you are completely clueless about – like this supposed pop up ads that I never knew existed and saw ever! Other violations can be easily labeled as deliberate, but this one that no fellow blogger could attest that ever existed – how could I have known, right?
One thing I am thankful for, though, is the prompt response of the support team of Entrecard. Whoever s/he is, that person (did not indentify him/herself) assisted me throughout and indulged me with all my queries. S/He identified from their pop up blocker what was causing my problem. Widgetbucks was the culprit. And when I got the Widgetbucks script deleted, (which for the record, did not get this blog earn a single buck) I immediately told the EC support to have this site checked. I got a response that there is this auto play thing this time! Argh, those nasty scripts! So I went right back to the codes and looked for any possible auto play stuff, I just erased this voice2 script and did not mind what that was – I had no use for those extra scripts anyway.
I am just glad that I got reinstated in less than two hours. But I was out for more surprise when I got back to the top 12 of most popular blogs with this blog’s price diving down from 2048 to 4 EC. Which is better if you ask me, than losing my rank altogether. This site is officially still part of the EC community. Yay! Keep on droppin’ those cards.

Welcome back! I also had the same thing happen a few weeks back with one of my blogs being deleted in error.
Up to now, even with all the official apology and reinstatement by Entrecard admins, I still don’t know how someone could easily delete a very busy blog.

I’m just glad that there were changes with how they conduct deletion. I just saw an article from Entrecard. It really does not make sense that they could just easily delete a blog, especially in the case that I had. (pop ups that I never knew existed)

It could really be stressful. I know because it stressed me when I read the email from them that I got deleted just like that. I am glad to have been buzzed by Apollo that they have implemented this policy change – a welcome change indeed.

@bloggista: Yes, they are starting to get annoying.
But I didn’t get my yaw-yan blog reinstated by pleading…
I actually wrote a very to-the-point letter showing my disgust at their lack of proper procedure.
I hope they finally get to finish this purge they are doing, so they can instead shift into more manual screening of upcoming blogs in the network.

Just as I thought you followed me when I left EC. Although my Happy Family Matters has still widget on my sidebar, I don’t drop anymore, and not even accepting ads for a quite sometime.
I am just using my remaining points to place ads, sayang naman e. Unfortunately, the blogs that has been deleted and leaving has been increasing lately. I think that this because EC has lost its magnetic touch, and many members are getting annoyed.
Well, no regrets for joining EC because this is where I got most of my followers and friends (w/c includes you, of course).
But then, I also have no regrets in leaving EC. I even felt better when I left, and the quality of my traffic got even better. Bounce rate has been greatly reduced too.
Wala na kasi droppers e, halos lahat puro dropping by na talaga.
But of course, iba iba tayo. I am not convincing you to leave or stay. I am just speaking on my experience.

Hi Kuya Angel! I understand your partiality over this matter. I agree that there are these downside in being in the EC community. As for me, I still love the fact that I get to visit blogs even via EC then eventually enjoy having found them. I guess this is why the EC big wigs are basically getting down to imposing these quality standards. But then again, it could really take a while before the Entrecarders benefit. At the end of it all, I still love EC. For now at least, I don’t know if the time will come that I would choose to take down that widget from my sidebar.

this is weird ha. grabe. so nde pala allowed ung mga pop sa EC but i have been seeing a lot of blogs with pop ups na active naman ec nila. oh well.
anyway, haven’t you heard of one of EC droppings disadvantage to your blog’s ranking. ung drop and run thing which we are found on doing eversince we had entrecard makes our blog’s bounce rate higher. if you google on bounce rate you would find a lot of interesting things.
but i am glad you got your account back.

Hi Milet! I have actually been hearing about this bounce rate when you have EC, but have not actually read thoroughly about it. Now that you mentioned. I just went to my other browser and googled. This is really something to think about.

Oh well. Got the same problem. Not with the full screen ads or nasty scripts, but I had the email autoresponder which irritated them when I someone leaves a message on my inbox.
They should have told you right away what’s causing the problem, in addition to the rule violation.

To tell you the truth I have very frequently seen a pop-up on this blog. I’ve never seen exactly what it is because Firefox blocks it well and I don’t want to unblock. It was probably someone using Internet Explorer who reported it. Perhaps we should all look regularly at our blogs as an outsider to make sure we know what is happening.
OK mistakes are made from time to time and it’s unfortunate, but the Entrecard moderators aren’t so draconian that they can’t be approached. Personally I’m very glad they are getting rid of a lot of the rubbish which made surfing to find new blogs a nightmare.

Simula nang nagkaroon sila ng mga volunteer moderators, madami ang tinanggalan ng EC. Ni hindi man lang nagbigay ng warning, basta na lang tinatanggal. Tuloy, walang ka-alam-alam yung may-ari. Nakaka-irita talaga. Di ako natanggalan ng EC pero may alam akong tinanggalan.

The mods I know are really wonderful people, but that doesn’t change the issue with all errors they are making with regards to blog deletion on a large scale. It has become very frustrating and makes me change my point of view with how beneficial the network really is.
The mods are deleting blogs like crazy and their actions are now more prone to human error.
Feels more like a inquisition more than a normal purge of a social network.
I just want their purge to over and let them start screening registrations manually.

You have a good point there, archondigital. The main issue is really on the vehement blog deletion like they did with mine. Frustrating is even the least you can call it. For a blog that is so busy as this one, I should have earned the right to a warning first.
But looks like they really are not stopping at anywhere to improve, if you will check one of their recent blog posts, they have now modified how they delete blogs. They actually send out warnings for those with minor violations.
And I totally agree with you too that screening registrations manually should be less painful.

hi.im glad to hear you got reinstated. i guess it was your site that had the voice prompt.i wasnt really sure as i use firefox and entrecard toolbar and it opens a lot of blogs at the same time so i couldnt put my finger on which was doing that..but im glad that the entrecard team was quick in responding to your plight..

I didn’t know that Entrecard was that strict. I’m not a regular “dropper.” I believe it is a waste of time. But I like entrecard because it is a great way to find interesting blogs, like yours. Glad to hear you got it all straightened out.
