I received an email two days ago from the PayU2Blog admin, I just won $100! Now I know why I never had that widget removed from my sidebar. Of course that would be aside from the fact that I love that they give me complete freedom in doing the tasks they send my way, requiring the shortest minimum number of words from amongst the number of paid for blogging platforms I am a member of. I am so loving PayU2Blog, you can very well say that.ÂÂ
As if winning the hundred bucks wasn’t enough, I am given a chance to win $100 more. I was given the honor of being one of the four chosen recipients of their generosity to win the additional bucks at stake. I was told to choose from amongst their players for their Badminton championship to play for me and if my players win, I get to receive that extra $100 to my PayPal account on the next payday! Sweet! What an early birthday gift for moi.
The hubby and I love badminton. We used to regularly play when the little guy was not around yet. I actually miss playing. And I love that PayU2Blog picked me to participate in my first badminton tournament (albeit virtually) in years and with the hundred bucks to my account. Tell me now, what could be sweeter?! My first choice were Feeve and Jason, but I received an email that the two have been picked already. My second choice were Derek and David. These guys are set to play Friday or Monday, weather permitting. Whether double D win or lose, I am already a winner. My heartfelt thanks to PayU2Blog! You are a channel of God’s blessing to me and my family. That’s almost half of what we need to raise for the full payment of our car makeover!
Lately, I have really been very busy with the missions trip to Puerto Princesa, Palawan and, as always, with pending blogging assignments. During this busy moments, I really take time to have a break and usually I enjoy my break from office work and typing in front of the computer, not with coffee as many people usually do because I am really not much of a coffee drinker, but with a can of cold A&W rootbeer, a can of cold Dr. Pepper, a chilled Swiss Miss vanilla milk shake or a hot mug of Swiss Miss milk chocolate. Usually, I take this break late at night when I am catching up on message preparations or blog assignments.
Coming across Villeroy & Boch’s innovative collection of modern mugs like the NewWave Caffe mug, I can not help but think how this mug, because of its very creative, artistic and unique design could be a great addition to the glasses or mugs I use. By the looks of it, it must be ergonomic and it comes with a nice plate that is designed like a wave. The mug has a design available for left handed users and has a variety of sizes which could be very useful for a user’s different needs or preferences.
This mug matches and works well with the entire NewWave dinnerware set and its manufacturer, only for this month of August, is giving a 50% off manufacturer suggested retail price – just for this line of coffee mugs.
I encourage every reader to check out the Villeroy & Boch web site and maybe even consider getting their own stylish and unique set at half the original price. Readers can get the value for their money when they purchase this NewWave dinnerware set or the coffee mugs. Visit their site now.
It was late last week when I received an SMS from a friend who attends our mother church. Her news got me stunned and I literally had to stop awhile before everything settled in. She was asking for prayers even as the result of the needle biopsy done on her came back positive.
She’s only but 44 years old, a single mother and working every chance she gets to survive life as it is. Then came this. I am equally amazed as to how well she is coping. Her faith is doing her wonders, even the doctors are fascinated by how well she is taking everything in. She came by our place yesterday to ask for help to compose a letter that she will send to her friends and relatives. Please go visit the blog I got set up for her atDebbie’s Battle with Cancer and read her story. I just got one post up. The diagnosis reports: ultrasound, MRI and biopsy are still to be scanned. I’m also going to have it go live for proof. The hubby and I are making ourselves available in whatever possible way we can to help this dear friend who we have known since forever in church. May the Lord richly provide for everything that she would need from now that she’s doing laboratory tests to next week that she’s going to undergo surgery, then chemotherapy or radiation to recuperation.
We are asking for your support, prayers and otherwise for Debbie Marie Agbulos-Lopez, who is currently diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer. Send your emails via dmagbulos@gmail.com. There is no way she will be able to afford all the treatment she needs. The doctor prohibited her from continuing with her job and she has to prepare for intensive medical procedures.
I have given up doing follow ups on the roaming facility with a local network I had my father’s number registered with before they left for the States. Utter frustration, to say the least. A month later and tens of calls later, they still cannot figure out how to go about the problem.
It is bad enough that they do not offer a service that enables a subscriber to trace any phone number. It was way fuss free when my mom used another network when she went to Pakistan some years back. The last time I called them I made sure I am dealing with a supervisor in the hope that he knows better. To my dismay, nothing came of it. For now, we’re going to have to settle to plain instant messengers and pricey calls until they decide to come back.
1. The last meal I had at a restaurant was a seafood pasta.
2. A stinkin’ dog is something I intensely dislike.
3. The full moon does not indicate a night of the lunatics or even of werewolves and vampires. A full moon is something you can actually behold and be amazed over – another creation of God’s own hands (words rather – He created everything at His command)
4. Oh my, Siomai! (not very local, but that’s really a favorite that I think my little guy has picked up from me) is one of my favorite local expressions.
5. Sometimes it’s best to keep silent (which I often struggle with, especially if I believe I am right. But I am happy to report that I have been victorious in few instances).
6. Kung Fu Panda is the best movie I’ve seen so far this year!
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to a movie time with the hubby, tomorrow my plans include a night out with the hubby again and Sunday, I want to spend the whole day at church! (is it obvious enough that I have missed the love of my life in almost four days we spent apart when he was in Palawan?!)
It’s been a week since one of the hubby’s distant relative took the car to give it a whole body repair. It is about time. The month that passed has been the worse ever because of the typhoons and the rain that would pour every single day. It was a couple of years back when my FIL sponsored the repair of its leaking roof but a year after the dripping started coming again until it ceased to just be mere drip drops. It would have been sweet if this vehicle is altogether replaced, but this is all we can afford for now, for which we are ultra grateful. If the Lord wills it, maybe later we can afford that downpayment for that Avanza the hubby and I are praying for. :D
The hubby’s uncle estimated a month and a half until the job is finished. I will post some before and after photos of our California Project then and maybe look into auto insurance online to get a decent TPL coverage.
I am actually not big on SEO stuff and all those internet marketing hullabaloo. But for some reason the hubby got me interested after all those talks he has been giving me on interests on such matters. It is something he is not yet an expert of, but I have no doubt in my heart that he will put his analytical mind into good use if he really gets down to learning it. Read the rest of this entry »
Here is one of my favorites from the photographs the hubby took when he went to Palawan last weekend. There are a lot more that I will post in a while. Check out some of them that he posted here.
The hubby and I have been planning to get a drinking glass set for some weeks now. You see the couple of glass sets we received for our wedding more than six years ago are now gone. We could not help it that as years passed a glass or two would break. Nope, we are not one of those couples who fancy breaking them one at a time during fights. (lol!) Aside from the fact that the sets we had were that of the thin type – not very durable, I really think we are more of mug users. We have a handful around and have not lost a piece since. We just thought it was kind of embarrassing sometimes when we have guests and we would service the juice and colas from mugs and cups. Maybe we should really buy a glass set for those given occasions but we think we will still stick to using those good ‘ol mugs on regular days.
A couple of months back I wrote about getting savvy on concocting my very own refreshing sweet potato tops juice. I came about the recipe when I read from forums upon forums the benefit of sweet potato fruit and its tops. How the tops would naturally boost the body’s immune system and was discovered to have cured the deadly Dengue in several instances. I hope to share with you how easy it is to make your very own sweet potato tops juice:
1. Clean one sheaf of sweet potato tops thoroughly. Cut off the leaves and set aside. I have learned that the best way to clean fruit and veggies is to soak them in water with vinegar.
2. Bring water to a boil and stir in the leaves and boil for another five minutes. Let it cool and set aside.
3. Mix in calamansi or lemon juice.
4. Add muscovado sugar or honey to taste.
5. Add ice and serve.
Talking about mugs and my favorite juice concoction, I just love the versatility and durability of the innovative designs of NewWave CaffeNewWave Caffe mugs. Check out this particular design. I could actually have our family drink from this cup while feasting over my equally homemade mojos and chips. Hurry and jump to their site and avail of the 50% discount they offer until month end.
A rather late entry. I knew since Saturday that this week’s theme is “dark” but there was nothing in my photo file that matches. Having no access to our good ‘ol trusty A620 (the hubby brought it to Palawan w/him), I just browsed through some captures from my VGA clamshell. I figured since I know nothing of tweaking, I might as well get this posted as is – in the raw. This shot was taken in the dark. I love how my son just drifts away to dreamland in my arm.
While we are at it, allow me to just share with you how our living “naturally” came about. Okay, if truth be told, it is actually semi-natural because natural alternatives aren’t exactly the easiest to avail of. But as much as we can, we really do away with those toxic ingredients.
It all started when we were prego with our kiddo. I started juicing from scratch. No powdered artificial juices for us – for me especially. Then came my nesting stage wherein I checked every label of every single item in the layette to make sure that no synthetic stuffs touches my baby’s skin. Read the rest of this entry »
If there is one unspoken rule in our family it is this: the more natural, the better. I know how majority of things that are commercialized are synthetic and unnatural. This is one of the reasons why when anything “natural†comes along, I cannot help but stop and read on. I am not sure if you have heard about Dr. Suzanne Gudakunst’s revelation of the most effective Weight Loss secret that is natural. I am blessed not to be one of those who struggle with weight issues but I do have friends and loved ones who do. Read the rest of this entry »
My juggling prowess is once again challenged this week. The hubby left for a mission trip to Palawan early Sunday and won’t be back until late Wednesday. The majority of chores in the house gets to be done by me, but the hubby would always make himself available helping me out to occasionally lift the loads. That is aside from the fact that the play time he usually has with our little guy would also have to be covered by moi. Although I haven’t had a decent night’s sleep since Sunday, with bouts of migraines in between, I’m doing so much better than the last time the hubby left for Davao, October of last year to visit his father who was then sick.
I am not having the time of my life, I’m a little miserable without the hubby. But I’m making sure everyday is a productive one: still working from home, juggling chores and exclusively bonding with the little guy.
Watch this sproutwells video and you will see how it’s almost like inside our home – almost! We have turned into fruit and vegetable loving family in the last few months and I could attest that it has done us good. No, we’re no vegetarians. But I do hope to convert our family into one – someday. For now, I’m having them get used to fruits and veggies and I can say I am slowly getting there.
If I were a veggie, I would say that I would be a sweet potato top. I regularly prepare sweet potato tops juice around our home and even though it is not the hubby’s most favorite thing, he is actually getting used to it.
Isn’t this the sweetest?! I am just so thrilled to learn that the cards dropped on this site actually outnumbered the number of ec drops I did for the day! Woohoo!  I bet by now you can tell that I am an EC lover. One of the more interesting articles that I stumbled upon as I was doing my rounds was that of verItableLIFE.com. Oh yes, I still read through posts, mind you.  Beau71’s post on the record drop of 8 minutes and 13 seconds blew me away. I understood the point why the formula was not divulged, but if you were a faithful entrecarder like me, you will not help but itch to know the secret. Ok, so I have not got it yet. Being the IT ignorant that I am, I may never come to learn it. Nevertheless, allow me to just rejoice over this statistic.
I probably have joined every possible group that encourages members to drop back. This explains the number of widgets around this site’s Entrecard widget. Just so you know guys, most of them DO NOT DROP BACK.  I later figured what really worked for me was simply just to go to my drops inbox and drop back to those who dropped to our site. Simple.  But maybe you have got the formula to get the most number of drops back at the least number of time figured out, care to share?
