<description>I just purchased my motorcycle and have been really taking my time on learning it before I take any heavy duty travels. The plan is to take all the safety courses that are being offered in my area. I would rather be well informed on how to ride defensively and safely, then to gamble with my life.</description>

<description>Hi Beau71! I agree with you. One really has to be well trained before ever going on the road riding a motorcycle. And I second the motion that it will never be as safe as riding a car. This is why, I would rather get a cheap kind of people's car like Cheri with less than 1 liter engine capacity, which is relatively cheap than the average car.

I hope car manufacturers will get down to producing cars like such or even better, work on cars that are powered by water. That will be the day! ;-)

<description>Hi Jenn! Yep, it can be cool to ride a motorbike. I would have loved to back ride with the hubby, it's really the safety factor that gets me.

And with all the prices of consumables hiking up, it can be really attractive. Everybody can use all the money saving device we can get our hands on. Maybe if one will be used within the village or just somewhere near. But my issue about it is if we already have one, it will be so tempting to use it even on long rides because of so much gas we could actually save.

<description>Hi Hails! I agree with you there. But having seen too many accidents involving motorcycles and knowing for myself how the hubby drives really crazy sometimes (like a race car driver, I swear!), it's like a total formula for destruction. lol!

It can be tempting though, especially when one of our members told us that a PhP200 full tank of gas in a motorcycle would last him a week! Whoa! That floored me somehow. These days, you could only go so far when you gas up your car worth PhP500.

<description>I had a motorcycle for 4 years, and never one accident. I think it is important that you have proper training and practice before thruway travel. There is plenty of protective gear available; however, it will never be as safe as a car/truck.
